NORTH LONDON DERBY (Feb 2015)
Sam and RG are both busy, so I stepped in. Since I am also at work () and the game is in less than 24 hours, this is going to be a sort of quick and haphazard post, summarizing things I have been saying all week.
We are in a good vein of form, as are Tottenham - only Liverpool have better form than us in the last 6 PL games.
Wilshere is back in full training just after this game iirc. Alex and Alexis both miss the game, but Welbeck is back in the squad and should find a place on the bench, with new boy Gabriel who is physically ready but hasn't had time to gel with the back four or learn enough English to communicate with them.
We drew 1-1 at the Emirates in late September, when Ox cancelled out the lead which Chadli gave them. Typically, we dominated large parts of the match to no avail and it was a disappointing 2 points to drop.
Fast forward to now: both teams are doing remarkably better. You can't have a post about them lot and not mention the man of the moment - Harry Kane. What a season he is having! And he sort of put Chavs to shame a month back, so there is that to watch out for. Eriksen is also in some sublime form.
For us, despite a perception of Alexis carrying us for the first half of the season, others including Coquelin, Santi, Rosicky and Giroud have picked up some good form - so much so that we should be able to win games without anxeity till Alexis is fit again.
Meanwhile, we also have had some more success with the 4-1-4-1, thanks to Santi and Coquelin enabling the system with their fit to their respective roles. Ramsey is still integrating himself into that set up, while Theo and Özil have had goal scoring returns to the starting line up. Theo is still finding his competitive edge, but you can expect him to be absolutely buzzing for the derby.
The team more or less picks itself, not because of injuries or lack of options, but because these guys are all in good form:
Ospina in goal, Bellerin-Per-Kos-Monreal, Coquelin, Theo-Santi-Ramsey-Özil, Giroud.
Win away and we ensure that the gap is minded. Loss would see us drop below them lot. Draw would be more dropped points, which we can do without when we are chasing a topfour three finish.
COYG.

Well Done Sri.
A point is not good enouph, we must put them where they belong. Cant stand their delusional fans and I hope we walk away with all 3 points.

Re: NORTH LONDON DERBY (Feb 2015)
No doubt it is a huge game.
We can be confident, given our performance away to City. But it will take one bad defeat before we are 'put in our place' as well. Shouldn't underestimate them scum, they be doing pretty darn well right now.

I don't have Goonerette interns who I can delegate the task to. Had to take time out of writing my dissertation to write this instead.
It came with a disclaimer too

Re: NORTH LONDON DERBY (Feb 2015)
We must Start Rosicky, in the past few seasons he has been great against the Spuds.Tomas Rosicky: "I don’t like Tottenham. I try to score against them. The one last season that went in the top corner wasn't bad either"
This goal was unreal.

Re: NORTH LONDON DERBY (Feb 2015)
Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose - Bentaleb, Mason - Eriksen, Dembélé, Lamela - Kane.
Arsenal: Ospina - Bellerín, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal - Coquelin, Ramsey - Welbeck, Cazorla, Özil - Giroud.
Should it be here?

Re: NORTH LONDON DERBY (Feb 2015)
Yeah.. Jay also posted that in GS..
Why is Welbeck starting over Theo?
And where is Calum Chambers?
I was a lot more confident when I thought Theo would be starting.. Just because of his derby records..

Arsene Wenger becomes the 2nd manager to chalk up 700 #BPL matches when his Arsenal side visit Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
