Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
Obviously we cannot even consider letting Sakho go when our 3rd and 4th choice guys are Lovren and Toure. I believe it's just your typical Italian rumour.

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
It's weird...if Sakho is really so great off the field why is this seemingly the second manager that he is having issues with? Maybe he is a gentleman normally but has a short temper or a few issues with authority? Who knows. Probably just a rumour, but he had a bit of a rocky road at PSG as well.
I think he's very talented and probably our best defender on form, but I wonder why this is happening again (aside from the conspiracy of Rodgers supposedly trying to justify a transfer as opposed to playing his best line-up to win games).

When all the rich and super spoilt footballers were tanning on the beach, throwing thousands of dollars at strippers and hookers and trying their best to avoid the fans who so vividly adore them in Public during the summer.....Sakho went to small and dis-previliged cities in Africa, donating his money and actually meeting poor people and giving them inspiration and helping them build homes and hospitals.
He has always volunteers in Merseyside charities, even painting with normal painters at some spare evenings, and from reading RAWK those who live in Liverpool say whenever he's in town and spotted, he's very open and friendly with fans, always welcoming and never acting like he's a celebrity.
The only reason he left PSG, is that Thiago Silva wanted a Portueguse speaking partner. First Alex and now David Luiz. A bit like the same reason Sanchez left Barca because Messi was the king and didn't like him.
It's no secret that Brendan has never liked Sakho. He wanted Ashley Williams in 2013 summer and was over-ruled by Committee for Sakho, and last summer he spent 20M pounds to replace Sakho with Lovren.
Just to demonstrate how much more complete and important Sakho is compared to our other CBs, even including Agger in his final season....Sakho makes us so much better attackingzy, let alone defensive wise. Our Beckenbauer

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
I believe he should be vice-captain as well. He is young with time, and when were 5-0 down at Stoke 2 months ago and Emre Can was having a nightmare game at RB, Sakho was the one who went to him, consoling him and trying to up his spirits at half time. Not to mention he always stays after away games, appreciating travelling fans, and giving away his shirt to little kids

Re-assuring piece this. James Pearce says as it stands Sakho-Skrtel is our CB partnership.
Which is strange then why Rodgers has played Skrtel with Lovren in 2 of the 3 games so far. Surely we need to play S-S as much as possible to build an understanding ??!!
Only time will tell.

Pre season means *bleep* all mate, wouldn't pay attention to it until we get into August.

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
I'm not saying that Sakho isn't a nice guy. I'm saying even some nice guys have short tempers, or problems with authority, or other issues. You are making assumptions about why he got ousted at PSG...he had his captaincy stripped amongst other things it's not just Thiago Silva.
That said I would expect that if he really was interested in playing for us and there was competition for his starting place he should be willing to fight for it and not just throw in the towel and ask for a move. That's a loser's mentality IMO.
Plus, this is all just speculation.

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
the most important thing for back 4 to work in this season is Skrtel-Sakho partnership otherwise we are going to get screwed with back 4 !

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
I got a free ticket to the game last night. It was quite enjoyable.
I gotta say, Milner-Henderson looks a decent duo, tbh. They already work very well together.
Ibe looks solid, too, he was a constant threat all night.

A lot of us rated Ibe higher than Sterling when they were both 16 or 17 coming through the academy. Just sayin'.

He has a lot of confidence, but really lacked a final ball.
But he could well be a decent sub option.

Just 19, we'll see how he turns out. The good part is that he's a nice smart kid with good people around him unlike Sterling.

Nice to know that our striker and midfielders , both are scoring goals.
I am worried about Benteke and CB pair. Rest should be ok.

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
I'm guessing he is a RB/RWB and the lineup would be likeUnique wrote:Liverpool team to play Swindon Bogdan, Alexander-Arnold, Moreno, Toure, Sakho, Lucas, Can, Allen, Markovic, Firmino, Benteke.
Bogdan
Arnold-Toure-Sakho-Moreno
Lucas
Emre-Allen
Markovic-Benteke-Firmino
Arnold-Toure-Sakho-Moreno
Lucas
Emre-Allen
Markovic-Benteke-Firmino
2-1 for Liverpool.

Re: Pre-Season Tour 2015
Apparently we had another pre-season/practice game Today against Welsh side TNS, behind closed-door. Team picked for that game:
We won 5-1 with Firmino (3), Markoic and Ings scoring.
Bogdan
Rossiter-Kolo-Sakho-Moreno
Lucas-Emre
Markoic-Firmino-Origi
Ings
