Re: So, what next for Balotelli?
as usual a very deep and logical analysis by Robes. Jst hope it is not affected by fact Balo plays for their fiercest rivalRobespierre wrote:Luca wrote:Robespierre wrote:so what ? we've always seen this Balotelli in these years.
Beginning very good, and great free kicker. (even in his bad last period with Milan was this , but then he made nothing during 90 minutes)
The problem is on long term , on and off pitch. We'll see now.
I agree, with Balotelli there is always that feeling of unpredictability.
However, he is playing really well and his mentality is there and that's really the only thing worth focusing on but he's always a risk. I hope he continues to do well, but he is too much like Cassano, it's a matter of time...
atm he is very overhyped in Italy ( not a new thing though )
the leit motiv is " Balotelli is really changed, Balotelli is matured, Balotelli is a different thing now etc
The hype is so strong that Gazzetta's site wrote an article about Ben Arfa ( he's being legit in Nice ) , calling him the " Balotelli of France He has got his head together Too " .
Anyway , it's a consequence of Italy being scrub now and so we're obliged to cling onto desperately to him because the others are Immobile,Zaza,Pellè etc

Re: So, what next for Balotelli?
His talent has always been extremely overrated, said it while he was at Man City and i'll say it now.
People go bla bla bla if only his attitude wasn't so bad, the problem isn't just his attitude but also people have this high expectation of what they perceive him to be.
His talent level has never at any stage been as great as most claim it is, so even if he was a model professional he'd never reach the level that's expected of him.
The comparison to Cassano sickens me tbh, Cassano is at least 10 times gifted than he ever will be.

Bold claim I guess and maybe majority won't agree but IMO he had more talent than them.

Del Piero and Totti had pretty major injuries in their career. I actually think the Ronaldo case also applies to them. They would have been even greater if those injuries never happened.

Does Balotelli get another shot at Liverpool now that Rodgers is gone?

Thing is, Balotelli was as good at 17 as he is now. He's nothing but an early bloomer, and thats where the hype comes from. For a 17 year old he was a world beater, but for now, he's a good striker who has great moments.

Depends how Mario does at Milan this season. If he does well, I could see a new manager give him a second chance at Liverpool next season.

I didn't. I just said rooney never made the player people thought he would be when they saw him as a 17yo.LeSwagg James wrote:Unique wrote:I think rooney was the same.

Meh, Rooney is England's all time top scorer and will be United's all time top scorer by next season.
Rooney has achieved everything there is to achieve apart from Balon d'Or.
Balotelli would be lucky to live 1/4th of Rooney's career

Re: So, what next for Balotelli?
at 25 Mario isn't going to drastically improve at this point. He is a lazy striker, and will retire as one.
Matter of fact I'm going to go as far and say that if he didn't do controversial things off the field and if he was just some regular ol white Italian striker, nobody would even know who he is. People bought in to his hype based on his personality and what people imagined he could do...not cause of what he was producing on the field. He had some flashes here and there but anybody can see that he was nothing more than that.
G.Rossi at his age (pre-injury) was twice the striker Mario is today.
Mario is one of the most, if not the most, over rated player in the modern game. Or should I say "was"; I don't think anybody rates him anymore.

Re: So, what next for Balotelli?
Are Milan not going to buy him?
As for Klopp, I wouldn't be too surprised if he'd fancy giving Balotelli a go. He's had players before who were considered difficult and for some reason gave their all for Klopp.
That Egyptian Zidan, whatever happened to him, for example used to beast exclusively under Klopp.

There's no option to buy in his loan
