Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga II
there is less overall quality but at least in Serie A you can find always talented players - and also new talented players every year , and not just in top clubs . . It is a good mercato for foreign clubs, Serie A is always observed from all for this ,Dybala will leave this summer Palermo for Premier as Jovetic did , imo.
Of course it can be a risk to take from Serie A too , because for example not all know the special powers by Ventura ( the frauds Immobile&Cerci )
I realize it more for GKs , in past I used to Serie A teams with many good GKs and it was not for PL ( I have always seen GKs as the weakness of Premier League... but atm they have also the best GKs ) ... Anyway this is also normal .
There is no same money than past, so the clubs prefer to improve other roles than GK who is the less dominant player . It is enough to have a decent GK.
For eaxmple Torino has Padelli , he isn't worthy than half Gillet ( not even Buffon ) , yet ....

This is also the case for forwards. I once ventured intoa juve forum and apparently Berardi is the new ADP and a potential ballon d'or winner
Just like semi-retired Toronto-man Giovinco was.

According to CdS, Inter are pondering the sale of Handa and bringing in Perin in his stead.
If Perin goes to Inter

Depends on many factors imo, Fio's management (we haven't had the best of relationships in recent years), Milan's appeal (Talks of the club being sold, if not then Berlu has to make some 'assurances' for Montella to come) and finally if Montella is actually interested in starting up a project in Milan.

What's the news on Bernardeschi anyway? Will he be back soon? He looked very promising to start the year. What are your expectations for this kid?

He's been injured for months, he just resumed training yesterday according to reports. Haven't seen much of him to judge.

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga II
atm Perin is the best young Italian GK but for me he is overrated.
I prefer to keep Handanovic.
About Montella, Gazzetta dello Sport just today wrote the relationship Montella - Fiorentina is again solid . He appreciated the last window transfer.
But there is a clause of 5 mln to free him from Fiorentina

It 's soon to rate him tbh , he is still unripe.
I mean he was legit in Serie B , but Serie B is another world.
Bardi deceived me, he was GOAT in Serie B but his first experiences in Serie A weren't good and he is getting lost
About Perin I don't say he is not good, he is good and the best young GK, but personally I don't get the hype about him , new Buffon , 25 mln etc
He has great reactivity but he lacks on fundamentals imo, i 'm not still his fan.

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga II
Yeah but thats how every young player that shows a modicum of skill gets rated as the next Maldini/Buffon/Pirlo etc. Its just media sensationalist crap (Partly the home fanbase too), Perin is a good keeper that has the ability to become great from what i've seen. But 'Buffon' great? i don't get (or like) these comparisons, each player has his own proposition, no need for these comparisons to past greats. That kind of thinking destroyed MDS, 'Next Maldini" supposedly, let that stew in his mind for a while until it ruined him.
Anyways, not trying to get at you or anything. But in the footballing world, there's always the next Shearer, the next Zidane, the next Ballack..it just gets on my a bit...prickly

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga II
As Robes said, Perin's the best young Italian keeper but this is largely down to a lack of competition. There's no serious, established name to challenge him for the crown and certainly no one with as much Serie A experience.
He's sheltered by the lack of scrutiny and expectations that come from playing for Genoa. About a month back, Perin went through a horror phase where he cost his side points in three successive games and yet I heard barely a whimper about it in the media.
