Would love it to be on Guardians and IM1 level.
But what is their thought of tiers? I know some people that claimed IM3 was the best movie of the entire year.
GOTG , IM and WS level.
Not yet to hear any bad or even an 'average' feedback. Most have said it's really entertaining and at least an 8/10
Going on Monday or Tuesday

Hopefully they incorporate Antman into the next Avengers movie. They will already have Spidey on it right?

Yeah that's also my tier 1. Going away for a week tomorrow, so it'll be a while before I can watch. Will be lying shitfaced in booze the entire week. Would rather watch Ant-Man though Maybe I can find a cinema and bring my booze.

He's set to appear in Civil War next year, which is basically an Avengers movie now. More heroes in it than the first Avengers movie.

Hell I watched it a week ago and I agree
I also agree with your comparison. Apocalypse looks ridiculously identical to Ivan Ooze ffs. When I saw Oscar Isaac cast I though they would put him in a mini-Hulk buster suit or something to bulk him up.

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread
really hope Geoff Johns and Affleck make some kind of Red Hood film as the stand alone, but give it a kind of new spin. Great animated feature it was also.

I dig Psylocke and Magneto's costume but not really feeling Apocalypse tbh, hopefully Oscar Isaac puts in a performance

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread
Back from Ant-Man
Initial thoughts are that it was a fantastic comicbook film. Thoroughly enjoyable and very very entertaining. It was without a doubt better than Age of Ultron. Story, despite being straight forward (never intended it to be different) was immersive and not boring for a second. Full credit to Peyton Reed for building a great environment with interesting characters and connecting moments.
Charactersiation was probably the best part of the film. Every one of them delivered. Didn't know T.I was in it . Michael Pena was hilarious throughout. Amazing casting and my 2nd favourite character in the film. But, star of the film was Paul Rudd who was probably born to play Scott lang. Even in the emotional moments he provided natural ease and laughs. Doesn't look out of place at all in the Marvel universe. He kinda reminded me of Chris Pratt and how he played his role in GOTG. It was quite similar.
CGI was on point, and the action scenes were good. Was great seeing Peter Russo as the yellow jacket. However he was much better in the human form. You'll know what i mean.
Now for the spoilers
Serious spoilers.
I'll give it an 8.1/10

Now for the spoilers
- Spoiler:
I was dying at that 'You have a seriously messed up dog' bit Broke the cinema in half
Also Thomas the engine That was such a "choo choo motherf" moment
Was nice seeing Falcon in it. That was a good scene. Can imagine more banter scenes with Lang and Sam in later films.
The guy who stole the yellow jacket formula definitely works for someone higher.
Also lol at Hydra guy casually walking in.
- Post credit Scene 1:
- Hope becoming wasp
But that suit should be yellow IMO
Serious spoilers.
- Secret ending:
- seriously turn away:
Captain
Definitely talking about the registration act with Sam. Also Buckie seems to be on the run. From the registration act or just being rogue?
Ant-Man pretty much confirmed an avenger
I'll give it an 8.1/10

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread
What a movie. The guy playing Scott Lang was perfect ffs.
- movie spoiler:
- Loved the way the world looked like when Scott went to ant size. All those diffrent type of ants lmao didn't even know 99% of them irl. RIP my biology.
The final battle was a bit short and 1 sided (imo) but it was still very good.
Marvel villains so far has imho been
Hydra casually walking in for the presentation lmao. Didn't they *bleep* shit up in Winter Soldier?
Loved the fight between Ant Man & Falcon. Had a huge smile on my face when the avengers theme song started as Scott was falling on the Avengers building
That "My cousin knows..." part had the cinema in tears along with the "just baaaack it up"
- post credit:
- last warning m8:
- Dat Spider man reference had me and my friend like
Ant Man on #TeamCap side? Pym hates Stark, Captain looking for him but I don't know what Scott feel about both of em

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread
mah n
- Spoiler:
lmfao my cousin knows was hilarious both times. Specially the final scene "He was talking about surrealism but you know, i am more of an abstract guy"
That actor was the 2nd best character after Lang.
"NOTHING is going to stop us to get to Scott"
*sees cops*
"Just backkkkk it up"
Think most people had the same complaint about the final fight. As amazing as yellow jacket was in human form. He couldn't do it with the suit because it just felt that he needed more time. There should have been a final fight between them.
The reason it was one sided was because Lang had proper training with Pym. But Yellow jacket was putting it on for the first time.
Spiderman reference
Yea Antman seems to be on teamcap. Specially since Lang seems like a guy who hates authority.
Also, that "You have one messed up dog"
and thoman the tank engine lmfao

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread
- Spoiler:
Didn't notice that when watching it. Seeing that for the first time lol
Could just be shadows tbh. Doubt there is anything hidden there. Lang got incredibly lucky to get out of quantum realm. Pym's wife cant have survived for like 40 years like that.
Quantum realm is a theory which they used. It's when you study something at the smallest level possible in isolation ( I could be wrong). Lang kept shrinking to a point where he couldn't shrink anymore and went to a quantum realm which isn't measurable by anything.

Pym was on Stark's side in Civil War (comics version) though there were some... extenuating circumstances involved.
