Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
University life will be the fastest years of your life. You won't even notice and you'll be in the third year of your degree.
Compare that to High school where it felt like eternity to go through 5 years. Uni is lightning fast.
I am doing my dissertation and I can remember my first day at Uni like it was yesterday(pardon the cliche).
It's almost sad.

I can see that happening, Freshmen year flew by. The first semester was extremely slow but this semester has blown by. High School really felt like eternity tbh and now it's sad how fast everything is moving.

Completely agree, I am currently teaching first years, and it feels like Yesterday that I was one of them.

How are you teaching first years at your age? ffs some of them might be older than you.

Some of them are
I'm not lecturing, just teaching in Practicals (we call it demonstrating, I don't know what other uni's refer it to)

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Yeah my last two weeks have been hell because of a terrible mix of both tests and papers due that I procrastinated on. I just got most of it done tonight though and it seems I'll finally get a break in the upcoming week, other than an exam Monday I need to study over the weekend for.
I'm quite exhausted but I got through while keeping my sanity and now I'm up late listening to old jazz and blues artists with a friend. The upside of university--getting exposed to stuff like this that I never typically would listen to or hear.
I just watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly the other day by the way and would highly suggest it to anyone. Now that is something I would watch alone, but I'm glad I had someone pushing me to do so anyway.
Can't believe you're doing any form of teaching ffs @Kick

Savour university life while you're still there, because you'll probably never be there again unless you go on to do postgrad studies.

The movie is called "The Outlaw Josey Wales". It's not as fantastic as the G, B & U and was made a decade later, when westerns were no longer at their peak. Clint directed the film as well, so it's a bit of a different style, but it still draws on some of the techniques that Sergio Leone put to good effect 10 years earlier. Overall, Josey Wales is a thoroughly enjoyable film.

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Guys life gets better after Uni, if you find a job hahaha.
Man cherish them uni days, hanging with mates all day 3-5 days a week, biggest problem is some shitty assignment or exam. But still nothing will beat a decent paycheck, so make sure you set yourself up for life after uni, experience and your personality are the two things that will get you any where.
Side note: Anyone going Splendour in the Grass?

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Had no internet for half a week because wasn't paying line rental and they dragged their feet a bit to hook us back up :3.
Maybe why TPG couldn't get us hooked up properly before, old tenants were still paying...
