Not out in cinemas anywhere but US. Academy members need to do their shit and leak some stuff imo. Only seen Boyhood so far.

Pls go.. That Hobbit barrel scene is worse to watch than it is to listen to the dialogue in the Star Wars prequels. Brb go pro camera brb pls go physics.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Lol I loved that scene for some reason. Very different from what happened in the book and they had it to prolong the movie. Battle Of Five Armies is the shortest film and has the best ending I heard.

Heard the whole trilogy has felt fragmented and the whole last film is a climax without much story or character development. I have no interest in watching it after spending 4 hours waiting for Smaug to wreck something and then fade to black ffs

Jude Law and his love for identity change in the late 90's.
Pretty decent flick. Perfect if you want something to do in order for time to pass by.
Ethan Hawke is quite good in this. And Uma Thurman is quite gorgeous, I must say it surprised me - wonders of make-up I guess, but I totally would engage in intimate relations with that look.
She still has ugly toes though *cough* Kill Bill *cough* wiggle your big toe
My rating: 7.3/10

Still Alice
What stands out in this film is Julianne Moore's performance. It's unbelievably amazing.
This film just strengthens my point again that I don't want to grow old (not over 50 at least. I can get killed by someone or get run over by a bus when I reach that age for all I care)
Because oldage more often than not comes with terrifying things like Alzheimers.
I see it as being worse than AIDS or Cancer. So for me, a lot of the time in this movie I felt suffocated. It's so true, grounded and realistic - and I like movies of this kind - they are informative and we need them.
My rating: 7.6/10

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
So just back from Hobbit: Battle of the 5 armies.
General review doesn't require any spoilers so will only spoiler bits at the end as necessary.
Thought the movie was really good. The battle scenes were amazing. Really well directed. However the movie lacked a story. It tried to portray themes of honour and love and sacrifice and it succeeded at most of it, but it didn't really present any story for it. It was a linear movie with few shocks and twists. But it was entertaining to watch so it didn't feel like a chore.
Acting was good, as it should be considering the actors in it. Direction was good. Music was good. Action was the best part.
I don't think the hype was justified. Thought Desolation of the Smaug was a better film and battle of the 5 armies failed to surpass it.
Major spoilers
Overall: 7.7/10

- Spoiler:
Thorin's death was a bit of a shock, along with both of the brothers. However Taurel's reaction was poor. So she met this guy for 5 minutes at best and somehow is in love with him to abandon her whole kingdom that's lust more than anything. or fetish for dwarves.
Overall: 7.7/10

Lot of hype. A lot. In USA and UK. Hell even in Bangladesh.
Read the spoiler tag. They kept it faithful to the book. Honestly LOTR/Hobbit is not GOT, there are no shocks and twists. It's all about the journey. You gonna watch LOTR now RG?

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Agree completely with RG's assessment of Battle of the Five Armies. It was great, but just not as epic as it perhaps should've been.
What it did do is make me want to re-read the Silmarillion.
