Liverpool v West Brom
A win against Everton would have been absolutely great, but draw wasn't the end of the world.
A win against Basel would have put us in a very good position in our CL group, but it's not an easy place to go to and defeat wasn't the end of the world.
In fact, the end of the world is unlikely to be football-related.
However, there can be no excuses on Saturday. West Brom at Anfield. We must win this one.

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
Rodgers last season on Spurs:
We better win a few games, or he might put some pressure on himself.
"I don't think we are under pressure," the Liverpool manager said. "Probably not as much as a team that spent £100m and must have been hoping to challenge for the league this season."
We better win a few games, or he might put some pressure on himself.

Need a win here. It's still early in the season and lots of time to build momentum. It's going to be tough but the quality is there we just need to sort out a few things and stay healthy.

The definition of a must win game.
I dread to think what happens if we don't win this. They are amazing at set pieces **goes to cry in a corner**

He's developed too much of an ago to feel pressured right now. He owns the city. Blaming everyone but himself right now...

Brendan has some of the most calm and insightful press conferences and interviews out there. How is he blaming everyone but himself? lol man it just never stops.

I don't want to read too much into Rodgers' pressers right now, but I'm not agreeing with all he says. Not that I care that much about what he's saying right now, what I care about is what he's doing to get us to play better and that will show on the field, hopefully starting tomorrow in this game.

We'll destroy them if Sturridge plays, no doubt about it.

They're good at set pieces. We have Lovren.

Coutinho in for Markovic and Lambert for Balotelli. The first decision is a good one, let's see about the striker one.
Let's go and get a win now!

Playing absolutely dross again. WBA is very well organized.
Lallana with a moment of magic Lambert is working very hard but he's so bang average it's sad to see us go from SAS to Mario to Lambert
Raheem and Coutinho have been absolutely shittiest players on the field.
Sturridge, Allen and Can can't come back soon enough.

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
We've been pretty wank again and the depressed crowd isn't really helping, but Lallana's goal is such a relief. Doesn't surprise me one bit that henderson provided the slick assist. We should just play him as a striker ffs, the guy can do everything.
Coutinho's been good, McAgger, he's been trying to make things happen but we continue to lack movement and chemistry.
Lambert is a poor version of Balotelli. I'm fine with Lambert getting a start in a game like this over Balotelli, but I just don't think we need both of them in the squad. That's poor transfer dealings from our part.
Anyway, the lesson from the Everton game was that you cannot count on a one goal lead, so I'm hoping we'll go and try score another one now.

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
Outstanding game by Stevie, Hendo, and Lallana.
Raheem probably the worst player on the pitch, still got an assist though Lost the ball almost every time he touched it but meh everyone has one of those games.
Lovren looked shaky at the back but the defense did alright. We didn't look like conceding at all. And their goal was never a pen.
Win was all that mattered. After the international break, Allen, Can, and Sturridge all back. Our season is back on track ffs

Sterling needs to sit out a game, let the lad rest and get his head back together.

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
It wasn't exactly a dominant performance, but the much-needed points stay at Merseyside!
Henderson, damn, a player every team would like to have.
Yeah, I agree, Sterling could sit a game out. He's being too naive lately, losing the ball too often in unnecessary situations.
It was outside the box, but I wasn't surprised it was Lovren whose bad tackle gave them a goal.
Manquillo is quite limited with his dribbling and passing. He works hard defensively, but I'd start Johnson now that he's fit.
Lambert was underwhelming. What he offers to us, Balotelli offers better.
Anyway, we still need to play better to get into the top-4, but this was a step to the right direction. Looking forward to the time after the int. break when we'll have some players fit again.

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
Lambert is just average. Balotelli works hard too so I don't understand this crap about hard work. If Rickie wasn't scouse and Pool fan he wouldn't be a Liverpool player, it's really not hard to see.
Once Sturridge is back I have no doubt Mario will look better. He's a SS and he needs a quality ST to play with. As a lone ST he's looked meh pretty much his whole career.
I think we're back on track. This injury ridden post intentional break period killed us. Allen, Can, and Sturridge are very important part of our squad and players that we badly needed.
And I agree Raheem needs a rest.
Gerrard rolled back the years with that cameo CAM performance ffs

Re: Liverpool v West Brom
Performance was average, but 3 points is all that matters.
Lallana's goal was class. He does have quality, although the fee he went for is still absurd.
Lovren. Shouldn't have been a penalty as it was outside the box, by why are you sliding in like that in the first place? Gave away a free header that WBA didn't capitalize on either. :S
Henderson won us the game really. Sterling needs a breather. Looks too jaded, but he still did well. All in all 3 much needed points but a lot of improvement needed.

Oh, and I really hope Lucas starts playing more. Brings so much more balance to our midfield, and we look a lot better as a result.

Marty created the thread and we still managed to win, that is a good sign to start winning once again.
