Roma 'not optimistic' on Salah

Roma have been in negotiations with Chelsea for Mohamed Salah all day, but reports are “not optimistic.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, director Walter Sabatini flew out to London for talks and the meeting stretched on from 12.00 GMT to well into the evening.

However, the same report suggests both parties are not optimistic about finding a deal.

Chelsea want £550,000 for the six-month loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for £11m.

Roma are trying to get the loan price reduced or even removed completely for the 22-year-old, as they’d be paying his full wages too.

There are other problems too, as former agent Oliver Kronenberg is said to be lodging a complaint with the Football Association to decide who actually represents Salah.

How were Benfica able to get a work permit and not Arsenal? Aren't they both EU? Or did Benfica wait until Di Maria got a european passport?

Work permits are harder to get in England than the rest of the EU.

Which is why we loan players to Vitesse before they join us, like Bertrand Traore.

UK has a separate border agency and rules. You can't even travel to UK on a Schengen permit ffs.

And work visas are more messy fwik

Yea what the others said. Same thing happened with Aguero and Pato. They could only go to non-english clubs in europe.

Yeah agreed. I am indifferent to this honestly and primarily because the areas where Salah plays, we're relatively ok in. There's no real need for him at the moment. No need to overpay for him, but I can't also fault Chelsea for trying to re-coup as much as they can for him as well.

According Pedulla' , Di Marzio , Gazzetta  Inter is on Brozovic and Murillo (Granada defender )

Pedulla' ( a poor man' s Di Marzio ) was the first to say it , he is being GOAT recently , I am going to rate him better than gazzetta , as the most reliable source in Italy after Di Marzio

Football italia cliams that we have a deal for Marcelo Brozovic. 8m plus bonuses. No idea who this guy or how good he is but from what i googled he is an AM/SS, a position we have covered. Any idea how Brozovic can be useful to Inter this season With a 4231 formation?

This thread seems to be highly dominated by Serie A related stuff. I keep thinking it is Serie A thread and have to remind myself that it is the transfers rumours thread.

Well after some research, to me he seems like more of a CM/AM,similar to Kovacic.Seems suited for a 4-3-3 or maybe even the position Guarin currently occupies in 4-2-3-1.

Deal is loan with an obligation to buy in 2 years. Gotta love how we're going about business these days. What annoys me about the deal though is that although we've been looking for a holding midfielder we sign a Kovacic/Hernanes type of player. Apparently one of the two will play as a regista and i would hate it if that guy is kova

I remind Croatia coach rotated him with Kovacic , I cared a bit about Croazia for Kovacic and for this reason I met Brozovic, for example in WC he was the starter in place of Kovacic .
He is more defensive than Kovacic.

I am Italian so I saw him playing in last Italia-Croatia as DM and he played a GOAT   match against  De Rossi and Marchisio .
But a match is not enough to rate him competely of course

p.s. Kovacic is CM ( a mezz ala Iniesta-esque type of player ) , not a real regista but not even a CAM (trequartista) anyway
