I like Falcao too, they are not very similar but Falcao did nuke his knee not too long ago and is older than Costa so when he gets back into form as there both in the same league again we will see who is the better striker.
Of course it's probably only fair to judge Falcao in the second half of this season seeing as United is a mess, brought him in late and isn't forming there attack around him yet like Chelsea have with Costa.
And as far as Costa Shitting on Falcao and Falcao not performing in a big league, that is just not true. The guy was at Atletico for 2 seasons and had 36 and 34 goals in those seasons not to mention he had 38 and 34 at Porto.
I love Costa's game but don't sleep on Falcao when he gets healthy.

Re: Diego Costa is legit
So utterly and astoundingly useless for us that I cannot believe that Vicente continues to deploy him in the hopes that he will magically gain a sliver of technique to perform for our colours.
Performing for a team to which maximizes your abilities compared to performing for a team that requires at least a cell of technique are two different entities.
Said it before this baboon was even thought of being called up, he will not succeed for the National team.
Paco comes on in the 71st minute and scores 10 minutes later.
I admire Costa's abilities, yet never want to see him for the National Team again.

Of course.
He is essentially the heir to David Villa for us and has support from all corners of the peninsula to make it big.

I retract this comment.
Currently the most in form striker for a club.

Get the *bleep* out of here lol. Diego Costa is the 2nd most in form striker in Europe.
And the technique rubbish doesn't apply here because unlike Silva and the washed up Iniesta he could actually keep possession rather than get dispossessed every time he got it.
Clear as day Spain's problem is Iniesta/Casillas/Silva and their outdated system.

You see, when you need more than 3 seconds to control a ball that Silva created for him twice, Iniesta's over the top ping to which Costa saw as some profound comet dawning upon his forehead, or even the fact that he is more invisible than neutrinos when playing for us, it spells that he simply cannot cope with what is required to lead the line under this system.
Reminds me of Hugo Almeida for Portugal, or Hugo Almeida in general when I see him try his best under this system. Looks completely out of his depth.

Btw Gil... only reason I don't like Costa is that he is such an absolute *bleep* of a person on and off the pitch. His game in itself is fine.

Re: Diego Costa is legit
Why are people acting like Paco scored some World Class goal btw? He scored a goal that's Costa's bread and butter and should have been called offside anyway.
And is ludicrous to compare Paco to Villa just because they both played for Valencia. Two very different players.

The point is that unlike Costa in his now 6th start for us, Paco scored in a total minutes in his two appearances that haven't even equalled one whole game.
The point is that he still scored. Something that seems to be a baffling equation for Costa under this shirt.
Paco actually does have some similarities to Villa. While being more an off-the-ball player compared to Villa, what he has is being a pure goal-scorer, two-footed (Villa's trademark), a big game scorer and as Villa's natural heir for the NT.
Living up to that will be difficult given Villa was (by far) the best striker for España yet we have all the faith that he can live up to it given their similar starts, abilities and tendencies.

Re: Diego Costa is legit
He's crap for Spain lol, he's been crap every single game for them and will continue to be crap for them.
For reasons I have already explained countless times.
Why should I bother explaining myself to people who just twist my words and lie constantly? I have tried to explain my posts but it just gets construed as "mole thinks he's crap " so why should I bother.
Got much better things to do with my time

If Paco ever gets as good as this then fair play. I think you're all kneejerking though.

In terms of pure raw ability, Paco will in all likeness never reach the level of technique that Villa has yet what he does replicate is the natural eye for the goal, having better movement off-the-ball and succeeding at a higher platform at the same age as Villa (21) despite the latter being quite a performer at 21 as well.

Re: Diego Costa is legit
maybe spain should drop the pansy passing style that clearly wasn't working all that much since 2012 and switch to a more direct style that would get the best out of one of the most in form strikers in europe ?

Re: Diego Costa is legit
Costa really isn't gonna work for Spain. No matter what Gil wants to say or write, Costa is not a fit for this side. Yeah, it's just six games he started but as far as International football is concerned, 6 games is a lot. Of course, Don Vicente is gonna persist until the following happens:
Don Vicente gets fired
Costa gets injured
Both
My boy Paco is very much the truth and should be a starter. Clearly Spain's legit forward these days...

Re: Diego Costa is legit
Would be surprised if Spain ever reach their 08-12 heights. Xavi made Spain happen. They either build it around lesser players like Fabregas or Koke or they just play it like any other international team. But Since Spain's style is now "passing football" they will never go against it to suit someone like Costa.
