So reports of a Welbeck medical were premature. Arsenal are in talks with United. Reading that United want loan while Arsenal want a permanent deal. Makes sense that Arsenal wouldn't want a deal that didn't involve getting the player permanently at some point.

Sounds like something that'll rumble on right until the last minute, only for it to fall through.

Apparently there's nothing in the Portuguese press about Sporting rejecting an offer from Arsenal for Carvalho. Seems like it's not a dead deal yet but doesn't appear to be an awful lot happening.

No new developments on a defender.
