Shocked Suspect hmm scratch Is he (ZZ) that bad!!!

That's just his style. All attack. Defence is completely neglected.

He is integralist , he plays with same way since 1990
Always attacking  , always with that 4-3-3

the result is fortuitous , the performance not.

Mr, who defends ?!? The adversary.

Roma ‘completely lacking in defence’
By Football Italia staff

Veteran Coach Arrigo Sacchi says that Juventus are a better team than Roma, and that the latter will need to do ‘something exceptional’.

The former Milan and Azzurri tactician was interviewed by Il Messaggero, where he gave his opinion about the two title contenders.

The Giallorossi are currently chasing after a three-point difference in the standings, and Sacchi was asked whether the Bianconeri deserved their advantage.

“Yes, and for many reasons,” said the proponent of total football. “For one thing it's the location that makes a difference. In Rome you live well and it's easier to get distracted.

“You need players who are exemplary professionals. Besides, the Bianconeri are accustomed to winning and staying at the top. When a player comes to Turin he knows that he will have to live there thinking only of success.

“Allegri's team is more complete, and more determined on the pitch.

“But when Roma do play well, they are better than their rival. They are more lively and they show a more beautiful game.

“In any case, three points are nothing. If the difference went the other way, I'd say that the championship was completely open.

“But to close it up, Roma must do something exceptional, since they are technically and tactically behind. Ball possession is not sufficient, nor the first-rate individuals that Garcia has at hand.

“[Garcia] has certainly done a good job. In this season so far he has been unlucky – a lot of injuries and some unfortunate choices in the mercato.”

Sacchi was asked why Roma often do not convince against the big teams, as in their 0-0 draw against Milan last Saturday.

“I don't look at their adversaries, I look at how they behave,” said Sacchi. “They are completely lacking in the defensive phase.

“If they had the same organisation as Empoli when facing opponents with the ball, they'd already be ahead of Juve.

“Some of their fundamental players from last season now have one more year on their shoulders - [Morgan] De Sanctis, [Douglas] Maicon, [Daniele] De Rossi, [Francesco] Totti, not to mention [Ashley] Cole and [Seydou] Keita.

“Gervinho is still important, but he goes off on his own a bit too much. And the team is unable to keep the same rhythms as last year. Sometimes many of them just walk.

“They lost the brilliance that characterised them. Their liveliness and their enthusiasm was translated into their performances and therefore into results.”

One of the differences between the current season and the previous one is the fact that Roma are now competing on the European front, which according to the USA '94 finalist saps the Giallorossi of their energy.

“Last year [Coach Rudi] Garcia had the opportunity of training his players the whole week, and it showed. The Champions League weighs more than the Europa League. But you still lose something when you play midweek.”

Finally, Sacchi argued that neither Roma nor Juventus properly know how to execute pressing.

“Roma don't know it very much. When they decide to go pressing, they do so with minimal effort and no conviction. Garcia has too many specialists, and they really don't know what pressing is. They just don't have the technical qualities for it.

“Nainggolan, a great player and right now the most active in the group, sometimes makes a go for it – but then it's not pressing, it's just effort. The Giallorossi do not move and they do not behave as a team.

“What Garcia needs is total players, and he has precious few of those.

“Juventus, when it comes to pressing, are incapable of sustaining it. Against Sampdoria, two Sundays ago, they only held it for half an hour.”

------------------------

Tough, fair and quite accurate as usual from Signore Sacchi.

I can't say I disagree with him at all, especially with his tactical and mental analysis. It's easy to say that other teams have figured us out (which is only partially true), but too often we are often our own worst enemies as we simply don't have the will to push further than we have so far.

Times have changed, Bundesliga is grown with Premier League and Serie A is fallen ... German players as Podolski  , Gomez or Klose are just exceptions .... occasionally
We 'd seen players as  Ozil in Serie A years ago  , as we watched Rummenigge, Matthaus ,  Voeller, Brehme, Klinsmann, Bierhoff etc etc and we 'd seen Beckenbauer if Italy didn't lose against North Korea in 1966 with FIGC to close borders for foreign players ( Beckenbauer said it recently)

Rudi Garcia confessed that “for the rest of my life I won’t be able to accept the way” Roma lost to Juventus.

The Coach sat down with reporters from La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the trip to Udinese. It kicks off on Tuesday at 11.30 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“My first 18 months in Italy have not changed me,” assured the former Lille boss. “A Coach must also e an actor, able to move between players and Press.

“When I said we’d win the Scudetto, I believed it, but I also knew that it was the right moment to say that. It was difficult to lose that way in Turin, but something has to be changed when it comes to referees.”

Garcia has continually referred back to the 3-2 defeat at the Juventus Stadium, as Roma had complaints about all three goals.

“I will accept the verdict of the campaign, but perhaps for the rest of the season or the rest of my life I won’t be able to accept the way we lost in Turin.

“I don’t have regrets for the three goals that should’ve been disallowed: it’s the feeling of injustice that will be hard to cancel out.

“I don’t believe in this so-called psychological sublimation, as referees are men and have to decide in a fraction of a second. However, since we’ve had six officials on the field, I haven’t seen improvements. It doesn’t work: either we remove replays from television coverage altogether or we help the referees.

“I also don’t believe that the errors even themselves out across the season: injustice must be evaluated in the moment.”

I was reading a Napoli website and all of them blame their current form on selling Fede Fernandez to Swansea and not replacing him Laughing

Never knew he was such a key player for them.

Never rated so much tbh Laughing Not even Napoli fans
This is because Koulibaly was great just against Roma and he is revealing another   scrub defender

and when it happens you tend to  create myths on past

Napoli had always great offensive players but awful defenders, and history isn't changed even now .

Basically when you realize Hugo Campagnaro is the best Napoli defender last 15 years  ( Albiol on paper, but I think Campagnaro with facts. He played with Aronica lol ) you 've surely a great problem hmm

Well I think the main problem is that their defense is shit so they could use some above average CB to add depth, but I agree he's not very good and dropping him at the WC was one of the reasons Argentina made it far.

yes, contrarily Campagnaro (the man mistreated by Maradona Laughing ) was an underrated defender for years imo , always a consistent performance in Napoli years under Mazzarri , it made more sense to italianize him than PaLOLetta , he began well with us then injured ... and quarrelled with his " adoptive father" Mazzarri  . Rumours say that he thought just to save energy for WC ... it was useless considering he was replaced after 45 against Bosnia and never played again Laughing

Yeah I agree, Argentina never made use of the best Campagnaro. Although Maradona also benched Samuel at the WC after a great year. Just shows another way he was incompetent.

I feel like that just might be the signing of this window. That's some good firepower up front for Napoli now if Rafa chooses to field Gabbiadini and Higuain together. If not, then that's excellent depth as well.

Anyway Sampdoria responded immediately .
They 've signed Muriel from 12 mln for Samp.
