Scum vs ManCity

if we dont see the gap to three points in next two matchdays, it becomes impossible after that !!

I have already given up, mind you, but it would be nice to have some hope going into the last 2-3 games of the season because otherwise matches will seem pointless and I hate those.

If they could manage wins over Spurs and us (at home  ) they can/should manage enough points from those three as well.

But hey, it's never really over until it's really over :coffee:

It's perfectly possible, even likely, that United will drop eight points in their remaining seven games, but the thing is that I think we're going to drop points, too, we're not going to win all our remaining games. Fourth is gone, I just hope that Rodgers gives chances to some of the fringe players, I think guys like Balotelli, Enrique and even Lambert / Borini deserve some starts, because the players in their positions aren't setting the stage alight right now. It would be a shame and perhaps even stupid to cast the first two names out in the summer based on the very limited chances they've gotten this season.

So who do we want to win the Manchester derby?

It would be best for us if United lose since they have the tougher schedule for the rest of the season. A draw wouldn't be bad either keeping both of them wary of us.

A United win though would be tough to swallow for me.

As long as we win 6 of our next 7 matches, whatever happens elsewhere we will be very very close to 4th come the end of the season.

United have City, Everton, Chelsea, and Arsenal. If they lose points in all of those matches (which is definitely possible) we're right back in it even if we lose at Stanford Bridge.

I just want to be in the fight even if we don't get it. Seriously it would be an unbelievably awful ending to the season if we just coast with nothing to play for.

we can definitely give a final push for top 4, once we get some confidence back and as I posted the fixtures of ManUtd, we can come very close. At this stage, I wont mind at all on actually missing on top 4 but we need to fight, we just need to win against Blackburn and then against Newcastle. That will bring back the energy which we lost completely during the last two fixtures.

Yes, theoretically (or mathematically) it's still possible,

We win remaining games: We finish at 75
They lose to City, Chelsea and Everton: They finish at 74

right now it is more important that we win our own games, City losing and ManUtd losing, both can be interesting for us, just to keep our hopes alive for top 4. City also have Southampton, Spurs after ManUtd game so you never know which door is weak.

Villa is looking better and better every week.

Let's hope their form falls off at Wembley. Benteke has really turned it on recently.

Skrtel will be back and he will take care of Benteke, I think we will get a hard fought victory against Villa but we will eventually win. I am more worried about League f*** ups here and there before we face Chelsea

I think Villa under Sherwood suit us better than, say, Blackburn. They will commit more men forward, which again should mean that our attackers will be able to play a little faster, like, semi-counters, which seems to be easier for us than trying to break down a deep-defending team. I'm feeling pretty good about the semi-final.

so were 7 points behind with a game in hand, granted we beat Newcastle it's down to 4 with 6 games left.

We should be able to win all our games bar a loss to chelsea and CP might get a draw from us, so that means we'll get 16 from our last 7. Which would leave us on 70 points.

I can see city dropping points to WH, Spurs and Saints and win the rest.

But i'm ganna go for 4 wins 1 draw and 1 loss which would mean they would end up on 74 points.

So it looks like a massive task to over take them

What we need

Win all our games and get a draw from chelsea, which would mean we would end up on 73 points. We would need city to lose to spurs and draw with saints and west ham, which would mean they would end up on 72 points.

Bit unrealistic right now, but city have looked awful, only thing is we have to lately.

If we win 6 of the next 7, I think we'll get top 4.

I think we can afford to lose Chelsea match but everything else must be wins. And if we can draw Chelsea as well, might even get higher than 4th.

It depends on ourselves really. City will definitely lose points until the end of the season.

I believe City will win at least 4 of their games.

Which would mean we would have to win all of our games.

I don't believe in it happening, sorry.
