Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Part of me wants this transfer to happen just so the world can finally see that Vidal is a fraud.

Zeals opinion on Vidal is well known, whenever Vidal is concerned Z sadly goes full retard.
As for why nothing ever happens in this 'saga' is because the ever reliable chilean media in partnership with Metro and Dailymail are the ones who invented 95% of this crap

Because not even Italians watch Seria A and Chile only play like 5 games a year.
At United all eyes will be on him and I'm pretty sure he'd flatter to deceive. The only thing he can contribute against good teams is kicking their best players.

I got that from the first post, I still dont get why.
Its fine, you still think Khedira is good so your radar on midfielders is clearly broken.

khedira is good though, a good player, just not for everyone. the way Germany use him, he is brilliant for them. It just doesnt happen at club level. not sure it ever will in a club that matters, not in madrid, not in arsenal, nowhere

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Yeah alright.
He's a decent little role player, nothing more with obvious flaws and some positives. Using terms like brilliant make him sound like something he isnt.

Anyways, not about Khedira. Merely using him as on obvious example for a separate issue.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
maybe that embelishes what he does for germany, but he is a good player. "decent little role player" diminishes his value imo.

I don't believe this report for on second.
You don't believe this, while you all believe the same kind of reports about Vidal carrying a lifetime injury.. Seriously.
It stems from my belief that our board wouldn't be daft enough to part with that sort of cash/deal for a player who got injured at the latter stages of last season, and then further aggravated that injury by participating at the WC. The risk is high. I don't want another Hargreaves situation at the club.

lol at "still", Khedira's stock is higher than it's ever been right now.
For your information Sami was a rock for Stuttgart when they won the Bundesliga while in the same season Vidal who was playing for Leverkusen was doing nothing special.
My radar for midfielders may be broken but my radar for players who are overrated is not. Vidal is a foul merchant abusing his position in a historically weak Seria A on a team that has not had any impact on Europe for years now. Forgive me if I want to see a little bit more from him before I crown him the king of midfielders that everyone else is happy to call him.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
nah, i cant compare khedira and vidal, there is a world of a difference between both. one if a role player, the other is a key player that makes a difference for his club or country. not the same class, come on Z.

Stock? Lol Like I give a you know what about that. I said still because you still cant see why some dont rate him...Anyways...
Big difference between "king of midfielders" and you saying he is a "fraud", implying he is some kind of average player.
Instead of crying out at the hyperbole which people apparently give to him (not seen it personally), just say what is he. Forget if he is overrated or underrated or what..is Vidal a great player or not?
Separately, are you saying Khedira is better than Vidal?

At Nick, well thats my opinion of what he is. A role player. He wouldnt look "too good" at a middle table team.
Just like many others who took the step up and played for big teams.

well, i dont rate him that high so it doesnt bother me so much. he has been in madrid 4 years, and he did nothing important to me. Now we are happy to have him around as a role player, off the bench type of player.

Re: #23 - Arturo Vidal
Saying that Vidal is overrated is a very subjective statement. The term overrated only implies that people think he is better than he is, and in that specific statement, you may be correct. I don't think Vidal is the savior that many United supporters seem to think he is. He merely has a very defined skills set that has been accentuated by the system at Juve (another example of Conte's brilliance in his exploitation of everything that Serie A was in the last few seasons).
However, to imply that he is some sort of fraud, riding on the coattails of those around him borders on asinine. You don't amass 21 goals and 13 assists in his last 63 appearances by being a fraud or a tag-along. That production over several seasons implies that his impact was consistent and reproducible given the correct circumstances.
Now, does this mean that he will produce the same impact no matter where he goes? Of course not! As mentioned before, he possesses a very specific set of skills. He is combative, mobile, aggressive, technical, and has a very good shot for a life-time defensive midfielder. Conte recognized this and gave him a role that makes the most of these traits. He was played in a more advanced position; he was asked to both win the ball back high up the pitch and get into attacking positions; and, finally, he was relieved of the distributive duties (Pirlo) and deep shielding duties (3-man back line). In any other system, he could struggle to produce the same numbers. That's not to say that he couldn't contribute in other ways. His numbers just may not make him out to be the world-beater that many think he was in Conte's Juve. Then again, he may struggle to produce those numbers at Juve this season under Allegri...
You simply cannot say that he is a fraud and lacking any quality. His numbers alone disprove that and make you appear to be an uninformed provocateur. (Note that I said "appear to be"...) Now, to argue that he may not have that same sort of production in another system/role is far more reasonable. In fact, I would tend to agree with you on this. Should he go to United this summer (which I highly doubt at this point), he will likely not be able to reproduce the same impact he had at Juve. This is simply because he won't be asked to perform the same role. In all likelihood, he will be played deeper and given far more holding responsibilities that will limit his offensive contributions.

He's literally not watched a single game outside of Vidal's two games against Madrid yet we see expert comments being passed on here.

Fair enough, I would say that Vidal is a good player but one who cannot handle playing against a midfield that can hold the ball. I've seen it against Bayern and Madrid, as well as some of his games with Chile. He's not a great player yet in my eyes.
Regarding the last point, no I'm not saying that, but Khedira has nothing to prove. He's obviously a good player too.
