Why do so many people find an issue with saying that one side holds much more responsibility than the other? Especially when so many facts point to that conclusion?
You said it yourself, there shouldn't be any one sided criticism and yet that's become the norm from both sides here. And I don't expect that to change. The belligerents in this war will always slander each others misdeeds just as they have been since before this war even started.
If what your saying is that Israel hold more responsibility for the damage of this war I can't comply to that, if that's what you were saying. Palestine have also been just as responsible as Israel when it comes to crimes against humanity. Sadly, there is no innocence in this war.
Never knew the day on GL would come, when I, end up standing up for flipping Palestine

I feel you haven't read through this thread at all which is sad because we've been through this very subject before and I don't think it's necessary to repeat it when it exists within these pages.
And you think the occupied and controlled territory of Palestine holds as much responsibility as Israel for this round of violence (that it was proven Israel started) when the death tolls stand at 3 Israeli civilians and over 1,000 Gazans?

That genocide article says it all.
Hah! They tried to delete it aswell but failed.
Edit: I meant keep exposing it to people that didn't know before. Everyone in the M.E and those not blinded by the western propaganda have known this settler state's evil nature for decades.

Israel is unlikely to send a delegation to truce talks in Cairo as it presses on with its offensive in Gaza, reports quoting senior officials say.

Hardly surprising considering how long the last truce they negotiated lasted and that Hamas now kidnapped a British-Israeli soldier as a result. I don't public sentiment in Israel would approve peace talks right now.

Re: So we're just gonna ignore what's happening in Gaza right now?
Hamas' conditions are the removal of the blockade on Gaza in exchange for up to a decade of peace from both sides.
Israel does not want that.
It's incredibly ironic that Israelis would disapprove of the peace talks based on some moral high ground they think they hold because of a kidnapping.

Criticizing is fine. Calling all Israelis or Jewish people insults is not (or all Palestinians, Arabs or Muslims for that matter). Avoid generalizations and you will be fine.guest_07 wrote:

Yes, I believe that Palestine (will say Hamas from now on) is just as responsible as Israel for the death tolls on both sides, directly and indirectly. The tactics used from both sides thus far is flat out shameful.

Huge difference between saying Palestine and Hamas so I wish you'd made that distinction earlier.
Yes, it is tragic and terrible that Hamas is launching rockets into the Israeli civilian population, three have died and one is too many.
But the state that is controlling the Gaza strip cannot declare war on a population (and therefore group) that it has completely suffocated and isolated from the world.
There is no 'right' in war but there is an overwhelming wrong from Israel in this conflict given how it escalated and Israel's responsibility as Gaza's occupier.

I try not to get into these arguments but this comment posted under the Russell Brand video has caught my attention:

"Israel was warned 33 times that the school was just a shelter and wasn't a hamas base", according to the UN official.

Re: So we're just gonna ignore what's happening in Gaza right now?
what I always find interesting is how these matters are framed by speech patterns in the news coverage.
For example now we hear that an Israeli soldier was 'kidnapped' in Gaza by Hamas.
Lol wtf. The term, of course, is 'captured', if a soldier is, well, captured in combat. They are fighting IN Gaza after all.
But by calling it 'kidnapped' the notion, and reality, of the lawless situation of Palestinians is moulded, expressed and reconfirmed.

Re: So we're just gonna ignore what's happening in Gaza right now?
Quite a lot of papers in England have been publishing life stories about that 'kidnapped' solider. From asking his parents of their views, to their neighbours while visiting his primary school for a cheeky view by his school teachers to special prayers in synagogue for him.
Safe to say I know more about him than I do about any single Gaza victim.

An Israeli anti-war group wanted to put an ad on tv listing the names of Gazan victims and had it flatly rejected. An Arab-Israeli was sacked from his post in a hospital for posting a caricature mocking Benjamin Netanyahu online.

Is it me or is Bill Maher saying that Jewish lives are worth more than Muslim lives because they are atheists and have more Nobel prizes?

I am patiently awaiting the day that Bill Maher is caught on live television with someone who has any sort of sense and says something like that.
Kind of like how Glenn Greenwald did but I'd like to see George Galloway, for instance, get that public debate he's challenged him to.

Re: So we're just gonna ignore what's happening in Gaza right now?
Labelling the catholic-raised Bill Maher a "zionist jew" is pretty much already discrediting anyone taking that stance already, especially for people who've seen "Religulous" and know Maher's actual stance on Zionism.
Anyway, that's besides the point.
I actually came to post this neat little article I stumbled upon, which is presenting a rather balanced point of view, and should probably be consumed by both sides:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ali-a-rizvi/picking-a-side-in-israel-palestine_b_5602701.html
(In short: the author discusses 7 important points that show that the conflict isn't black-and-white, and shines a light on the wrong both sides commit.
And yes, he does not favor Israel, so you really can read the piece without rage quitting, you guys.)

I didn't name the video nor do I condone its offensively ignorant title lol.
I just found the video I was looking for and posted it, didn't notice the ridiculous title until now.
