Re: Is BPL becoming a 'Star less' league?
Chelsea - Hazard, Fabregas, Terry
Arsenal - Ozil, Sanchez...Walcott arguably, Ramsey on the brink
City - Aguero, Yaya
United - Rooney, Van Persie, Mata, arguably Kagawa (asian market)
Liverpool - Gerrard....Sturridge on the brink
"do La Liga fans have an inferiority complex?" should be the thread name

Re: Is BPL becoming a 'Star less' league?
Manu-C.R
Liverpool-Torres
Chelsea-Drogba
Those were 'star' players.. Were highly marketable.

Re: Is BPL becoming a 'Star less' league?
i dont see what makes torres or droga more marketable tan Kun, sanchez etc...
the only difference is that there are less star strikers, more star midfielders

Not that it's much of an indicator, but Özil had more followers on Twitter than Arsenal when he joined last summer.

Kun and Sanchez?
No.I don't think they have reached the marketing levels of prime Torres and Drogba. You can also add in fabregas for Arsenal... he was the face of the team.

Re: Is BPL becoming a 'Star less' league?
Did you consider the fact that Torres and Drogba featuring in EPL at a moment when the premier league was rapidly growing worldwide, as a reason why you think there are less stars today?
It's not the case, there are plenty of stars in EPL today, just as much as before if not more.

May be....may be you can also correlate that EPL teams were at their absolute best during those years.. When those stars were leading their team. I'm curious to see who they'll Put forward as the face... last year it was bale and it looked so forced.

I can sort of see what you mean I guess.
No player in the league at the moment will ever rival Torres, Beckham, Henry and Ronaldo in terms of marketing. Let alone the likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Drogba & Terry.
Lets not pretend Cesc, Hazard, Rooney, Mata, Sanchez, Ozil &

Put in 'not even' instead of 'let alone' and I agree.

Sorry I wasn't clear.. I'm on phone so can't type too much.
Exactly, you can put any of Ronaldo,Torres,Drogba as ultimate face of the league.
Now if you put ozil or kun as the poster boys it will look so incomplete.
