Truth be told Brazil as a whole were beyond chit tonight. I don't think Silva would have made much of a difference.

After Jill's David Luiz campaign he, of course, puts on the worst invididual defensive performance you'll ever see at this level. I'd go as far as to say this performance should be taken and shown to kids as an example how not to defend. Wandering, driving forward like mad, shitty passing, erroneous backpassing, not staying tight to his marker, lashing out at opponents in frustration ... Guy was literally all over the place positionally - except in defensive position.

So the only players from Brazil who should make the top ten list for Goden Ball are Neymar and Thiago Silva. Nominating anyone else would probably be embarrassing for the award but even more embarrassing for the player named. Imagine if Fifa had announced this list before the semi finals. They got saved!

Messi been individually the best player, and Germany has been putting Spain 2010 performance so can't see anyone else challenging at this point.

Neither Messi or Robben looked good enough today and Muller and James have been much more consistent.

Well, I still go for Manuel Neuer will the best individual performance. It was just a pity that there was this lapse of concentration of the defense in the semi that ruined his clean sheet there

the voting is done before the final so it will have no influence. I think it's between Messi, Muller, Neuer and James right now.

I think it will be James, Kroos or Muller.

People voting in this award look at the tournament instead of the names and the results can be surprising. Who expected Forlan to win it last time?

It's not nice to have just one player from an impressive Netherlands team but the problem is I can't think of any other of their players who were consistent enough and if we had to pick a second player from them it would be very debatable who to choose. Also there are others I could consider like Keylor Navas. All said and done this is the best I could think of but would like to know how others see it.

All right guys, I'm gonna put this out there now before it gets cool.

David Luiz is WC. Why? He's proved he can do more or less everything CB can do and more still. Sure, he has made mistakes in his positioning, and it's a fair call, but I think we all remember how Neuer was when he would come out of his net. Experience people, that's what Luiz only lacks now. Neuer got his runs right now. I believe David Luiz will eventually fix his game as well once he starts getting near 30. Iirc, Lucio had a similar problem when he was David Luiz age now & look at how he ended up. Also lets not ignore that fact that Luiz is also good in the air and actually has Technique and is also pretty quick & FGS he actually takes FK's. If that alone doesn't make him WC as a CB then god knows what WC is anymore.

As for Golden Ball I add a new condtender.

Robben for me has been the stand out player. Still the final to go though... if Messi, Muller etc. put in a great performance to win then it will be that person probably to win it.
