Re: General Games Discussion
EA have said Battlefront is coming out next year, wouldn't surprise me if Mass Effect did as well tbh.
But yeah the list is *bleep* huge.

Re: General Games Discussion
not sure why i said 09 earlier , i meant 07 , although i probably said 09 because around 08-09 i played most of the 07 big games
But 2004 was legit too , easily contesting other great years in gaming.
Rome Total War
World of Warcraft
GTA San Andreas
Half Life 2
Unreal Tournament 04
Killzone
Far Cry
Metal Gear Solid : Snake Eater (my only pre ordered game ever , because it was that good)
Counter Strike Source
Need For Speed : Underground 2
Sims 2
Fable
Ninja Gaiden
The LOTR : Battle for Middle-Earth
Halo 2
As for 98 . Rated today for sentimental reasons & over rated in comparison to future gaming years . Doesn't even grab pop-corn cause it's true
I owned both the Nintendo and the PS and some time later in 2000 , i got my first pc , which i played a lot of past great games in my day. Yeah , 98 was a huge year for gaming which pretty much changed things in gaming for good.. other than that . There have been other years that offered more quality and quantity in gaming. I won't even say 'go and play these games again' , because the majority of these games are barely playable more than 15 minutes today.

Re: General Games Discussion
I was going to mention 04! It was the best year for the PS2/Xbox gen. You had San Andreas and Snake Eater for PS2, Halo 2 for Xbox, Half Life 2 and Far Cry for PC. Everyone wins! And Underground 2 Probably my favorite racing game of all time with Most Wanted and Burnout Revenge. I hope this gen delivers some legit racing games. Last gen I only enjoyed the early Forza titles, NFS Hot Pursuit and Burnout Paradise (another 2007 game).
2007 was a terrible year for PS3. None of Halo 3, Mass Effect, The Orange Box, World In Conflict or BioShock was on PS3. Resistance was their saving grace when it came to exclusives.

Don't think I agree Dante, I regularly go back and play my old N64 games and still enjoy them as much as I always did

Re: General Games Discussion
well , i guess you loved these games more than i did . I tried to play my favourite of the PS era , Metal Gear Solid. Couldn't play it after 15 m or so. Tried my once Nintendo favourite Gauntlet Legends , or the Super Mario Kart . Same. Pretty much anything i tried to play , i didn't see it with the same eyes as before.
After playing so many new stuff many of these games lost their appeal to me , even though they retain their uniqueness i guess...Obviously i still like them , i just won't sit down to play these games today because it's not the same thing , that's what i am saying.. Not saying they lack in value today , i am saying exactly what you said there. There's a sentimental value on these games when people talk on best years and such. Objectively speaking , they don't stand a chance with future gaming years . TBH , there's sentimental value for me in it as well , i just like to talk more pragmaticaly when it comes to those things.
All the MGS games , absolute favourites of mine , didn't stop me abandoning the PS , to give you an example. Because i wanted more in the end. Similarly to these games , they were insane back then , as the years went by and other games went out , i wouldn't put them on top of future games just for sentimental reasons as being suggested. Now if you can still play them , cheers to you m8 . Not saying anything against that . Most people won't tho .

Burnout was such fun , agreed. My favourite of the PS2 era as far as racing goes , were the WRCs and Gran Turismo 3(if i am not mistaken) . I played Underground 2 on the PC mostly , but since i was never really a fan of racing games , i never trully played like i did with WRC and GT .
New racing games.. not sure. For PC there's Dirt which is kind of fun even for non-fans of the racing genre .. but yeah , unless they release Gran Turismo on the PC , i don't really care. GTA V is going to have enough racing for my liking

Re: General Games Discussion
I actually finished the first Metal Gear Solid recently. Recent as in 2011 and 2012. Could not play GoldenEye at all though.
And speaking of racing games, did any of you play this gem?
Midnight Club LA was such a disappointment.

World at War II? I wish It's probably going to be super future laser adventure of spaceship explosion war, featuring hover boards, and the ability to throw laser disks with your eyes.

Midnight Club , wow you flashed out stuff i had buried in 6th grade or i don't even Never played this game , but i do seem to recall it.
Yeah , i tried to play MGS around that time as well. Didn't work so well for me lol. Game wise , the story and gameplay was fantastic tho and tbh , the graphics aren't that terrible even today . You can still play this game . Maybe i should try again lol. Idk , in the end. I know i'll never have the same experience with these games as i did back then .

No idea how people can buy so many of those fighter games anyway so SF5 won't cause too much hate tbh, it's all the same ffs same characters same moves same foriegn screaming
I mean you could say the same 'bout FIFA but I play that because of pro clubs and obviously being a football fan. Can't imagine there's too many fans of er... real life japanese superpower fighting what with it not existing and all

I always thought Goldeneye was overrated anyway, Perfect Dark was the much better game.

Might be a unpopular opinion but i played both GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough and enjoyed the latter more.

If you have a bunch of your friends over, the former is good.
If it's just you and your best mate then the latter is better simply because the game has bots that you can play against.
Just depends on the situation.
Goldeneye had the better single player mode and music though.

Re: General Games Discussion
GoldenEye was much more influential. Made the way for console multiplayer and console FPS just like MGS did with story based games and stealth gameplay.

Re: General Games Discussion
Can't believe I'm saying this but Plants vs Zombies is really fun.
There's like a horde/zombies mode where as the plants you protect your garden from waves of Zombies. There's like special abilities as well as ability to put down flower based turrets and fences lol.
Boss Waves as well, I ended up fighting a load of giant yeti zombies
