Herrera and Di Maria look great.
We look better defensively with a better midfield. Evans has done well just keeps playing it short to Rafael. Overall good half.

HT. 3-0
The Di Maria show.
Great to have a player willing to run with pace from box to box, take players on and deliver quality balls. Breath of fresh air. We aint seen that since CR
Rafael has been great too. Defensively and offensively.
Herrera looks to be enjoying the freedom of going forward now that Blind is there. Blind and rojo have been solid too.
We need to use the width on the right a bit more though. Herrera needs to drop there more. we're a bit too narrow in the middle.
Other than that, enjoyable watch. Good to see us getting some goals.
Falcao next half please for RVP. He looks so out of form atm.

If you throw in someone like Januzaj into this formation you'll see us use the right even more.

Januzaj for RVP looks to be the most logical sub because rvp has been dropping to the right quite alot this half. Also do his teammates not speak to him infront of goal or does he just ignore them??? Missed two golden chances by ignoring Herrera and Rooney behind him

I've realised Januzaj is more selfish when he comes on as a sub, than when he starts. Probably thinks he needs to do as much as possible in the limited time he gets. Should have passed though.

FT. 4-0
Just the game we needed to give us a boost. A stark difference from 2 weeks ago in every aspect.
Di Maria!!!

0 goals concded from open play. Still look shaky at the back, but we saw how better we did today with Blind protecting the back 4, who was great today btw. Shaw and Jones to come in, and Rojo to move to his preferred position and we'll look even better. Really nice to have Rafa back too.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
I think the second half showed that Herrera's natural position is just behind the strikers. He plays well in central midfield, but it's a waste of his talent.
Di Maria's skills are just amazing. The result would have been very, very different without him.
Overall, the rhythm was too slow. We would be deadly vulnerable against a speedy and physical team.
The midfield has improved in link-up plays, but still very weak in terms of defence.

The signing of Blind will be the making of Herrera in our team.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
I think if you put Herrera behind the strikers you lose the grit in midfield, Blind did well today, but he can't do it all on his own. At times in the game, you could see the midfield as a flat two, with Di Maria on the wing. So, Herrera adds to the balance. I do have suspicions he might be better behind the strikers, I'm not sure yet, but it's not like he's ineffective as a CM either.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
After we get Strootman, hopefully we can see Herrera playing behind the strikers. Mata's work rate has always been poor since the opening game. We need someone with more passion supporting the strikers.
