Argentina really missing Gago in the midfield for dat creativity and Higuain for a focuspoint in the attack. Holy shit, they seem to have 0% intensity, looks like they dont care at all. vertical passes 30/45 secs in the backline. lol

Argentina stinking out the tournament so far. From such a talented squad, they have been abysmal that 1st half.
Bosnia looking comfortable.
Messi looking off the pace.

5-3-2 not working for Argentina imo. Just doesn't offer much attacking wise.

Messi was poor in the first half, was better in the 2nd. Same goes for the entire team. Formation change helped.

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
playing messi upfront with aguero doesnt work, he tracks back to help the midfield
no CB is going to follow him, they just wait for to come at them plus he gets tracked by a midfielder
with aguero and higuain, one of the occupies the 2 cb's, while di maria is dragging midfielders away on the left, leaving messi open for 1v1 against a defender and qucik one touch passes with any of the 3. that attack is so dangerous. and that counter attack. ---- aguero, higuain, di maria and messi coming at you. 4v4. you gon get fcked

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
I agree Collblanc...We have to play 3 strikers up front (including Messi) because he clearly wouldn't have enough space to act and he's not tall enough to receive crosses.
Not sure what Sabella was trying. Maybe practice for bigger European teams. Either way, it didn't work because the defence was still shit with 5/3 at the back. We had no midfield dominance with Maxi (), Di Maria and Mascherano. I think the weak link there was Maxi. Sabella realized this quickly and made the change at the half. The difference Gago especially made was great.

Argentina play football from the 80s. They defend with 7 and have 3 forwards who don't defend at all.
They won't win the WC.

2nd half was much better than the 1st. Bringing on Gago and Higuain was a great move.
Hopefully Argentina doesn't play 5-3-2 again.
Messi's goal was nice

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
Yeh based on tonight's performance, I can't see them winning the WC. But then again only one team has really totally dominated so far and that was Netherlands. Anything can happen imo.

Would also like to add they remind me of Ancelotti's Madrid before he switched to a 4-4-2 after Barca beat them 4-3.

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
Gago the inspirer
Sabella probably had a nightmare otherwise that first half formation I was sure us to loose the game had he continued that way...we were completely outnumbered in the midfield.... the defense did a decent job. but we all know what Romero is...
Di maria was complete tired near the end and did countless mis passes, still sabella asking him about subbing is funny.....Sabella needs to change his tactics/approach if he wants to do anything significant...

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
Credit to Bosnia for playing a great game. I definitely expect them to finish 2nd now. Much better than what i saw in the friendlies leading up to the WC. Particularly impressed with the pressure and intensity they showed.
