More points than Brazil.
nah Argentina 99% of the time dominate Mexico unlike Brazil
and Argentina would also love to FINALLY play a team that likes possession football so they can finally start countering (croatia)

I was joking. But it's pretty clear that Mexico and Croatia are 2 classes above Boznia and Iran(who are probably the worst NT in the WC)Donuts wrote:Ganso wrote:Argentina would have been out of the WC by now if they faced Mexico and CroatiaFußball wrote:

I think rating national teams by class has shown to fail this whole world cup..
Spain England, and italy might be out due to the underrated
hell costa rica has played more convincing then Brazil

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
poor tactics by Argentina to send the ball to the wing and cross it to two midgets in the box occupying the same space. When things didn't work they should have swapped position of some players to stop being so predictable

Aye, he (and the rest of the so called magic 4) are going to have to start playing well though or they won't do well later on. 2 goals aside Argentina (including messi) have not had a great start here

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
Now that was a shoddy show from the team I support unacceptable performance. Didnt deserve to win this game. Argentina played so so badly that Iran looked like Mou's chelski. But it would be unfair and wrong on my part to not give credit to them. So well played Persians you won hearts with that display.
coming back to us what the heck was going out there. Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria 3 of that fab 4 were playing as if it was a charity match or something. The number of free headers we got and which the first 2 simply messed up was unbelievable. The headers were going in every direction except towards the goal for some strange reason. Simply shocking stuff that was.
If this is going to be how it is, I cant even see getting past the pre quarters this time around.

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
now I understand why Iranians raised Carlos Quieroz
Great mark on team . Very impressed today , and it was not for the result, Iran defended Perfectly for 90 minutes, it didn't concede dangerous chances for Argentina. And when you see the names of Iranian defenders, well , you understand it is only for the manager.
and infact Messi scored just from out area where you couldn't do anything
Same stamp that I can't see on Argentina.

If Messi hadn't save Argentina's ass at the last minute you'd be still hiding in your cave now.
People said Argentina would put 3 or 4 goals past us but if you're happy with this result then good for you.

Credits for Iran's great defending and discipline and what a relief for Argentina! That injury-time goal from Messi have saved them. At the end of the day, the captain ended up a hero here credits for Arg's GK too!

This is the complete opposite of Messi from the WC 2010. That year, Messi played great but couldn't score. Where as this year, he has been invisible(tbf most of Argentina player have been bad) and yet scored 2 great and decisive goals..

Seriously wonder what would happen if Argentina had been in one of the groups of death. The team is playing so poorly and Messi's genius has now bailed us out twice.

I agree. The team is playing poorly and key players are just not showing up. Those who I touted like Di Maria and Zabaleta have been disappointing so far. Messi has not had great games but he has had two moments of sheer magic. Getting goals and doing things like that will do his confidence a lot of good and to be very honest his confidence and ability is the only thing we seem to be hanging on to at this world cup.

Good point and at the end it's what's happening now that benefits us more and gives us more hope from him in future than what happened in 2010 strange as that may sound.

Harsh on Bosnia though because they should have been 1-0 ahead. Game could have been different then.

Re: World Cup: Group F discussion
Think the group will end as it is.... can't see Nigeria beating Argentina and as well as Iran played they struggle to score.
I have no reason to think they will end their drought against Bosnia, wouldn't be surprised if its 0-0 tbh.
Argentina will improve as the competition goes on just because of the type of team they are, against bigger teams spaces will open up and thus they will create more which is dangerous with so much offensive talent.
