What a *bleep* twat that ref is.
But France do look extremely impressive, i'm not that surprised but still.
A potential quarter final between Germany and France is mouth watering to say the least if both teams play as they have so far.

Benzema is a flop! Chokes on a pen like always. Never performs for france, or in big games. DMzema never makes any runs at all. What kind of striker is this clown

Galatassaray game earlier this season, March Barca classico, Bayern first leg, etc. just to mention the important ones this year. He's had more dominant games against lesser teams... but i don't remember those exactly.Mamad wrote:messixaviesta wrote:Was this Karim Benzema's career best performance?

The very same thought came to my mind just a few minutes back. France are not having any real test though while Germany may encounter some tough times against both Ghana and USA. So they may be better prepared for battle. Also Germany have that historical hold over France and to understand the importance of historical holds we need to look no further than Italy vs. Germany.
Re: World Cup: Group E discussion
No historical holdever... until the friendly this past year, Germany hadn't beaten France in any game since WC 1986. Most of these players weren't even born then
Besides, both France and Germany play completely different styles than the 80s obviously. There's nothing there.

I'm pretty sure Germany won't encounter tough times against Ghana or USA, they're both crap.
France are looking pretty good, that will be a very tough quarter.

I have not been amused. Next match: Yann Sommer + Fabian Schär in, Diego Benaglio + Philippe Senderos out and hoping that Steve van Bergen can play again to kick out Johan Djourou, too.

Maybe so, but they are still better than Honduras, Ecuador and arguably the Swiss too.
Technically Germany will face tougher opposition in the group stage, if they have any problems is another debate entirely.

don't worry ,honduras are crap and can't play football.
if anything SZ should keep some of their best players from getting hurt in that game.

Re: World Cup: Group E discussion
Swiss are not qualified. In fact, nobody is. If Ecuador beat Honduras and then also France in the last game, it all comes down to goal differential. It all comes down to whether Ecuador destroys Honduras or has a tough game... if Ecuador destroys them, then eveything is still open imo on the final day.

I really don't think so. Did you see their game? Was terrible, USA are arguably the team with the least footballing ability in the tournament and Ghana looked very disorganised.
Haven't seen Ecuador, but Honduras and Switzerland are surely better than those two.

Thing is... people think Switzerland and Honduras are crap because France destroyed them. Could it be that France is just that good right now?

France didn't destroy Honduras, they had to work relatively hard for the win. And Switzerland isn't bad at all, even if tonight isn't the most opportune moment to claim that lol.
