End of an era Bn8j6AGCYAEAPsr

It is now,4 seasons later that we remain without a single player of our treble winning squad.

All I can say is... Molenation We salute you gentlemen, thank you for some of the best moments and now memories a football fan can have.

These people wrote history of Serie A and Europe, did what no Italian team did before ( although without any actual Italians Laughing, but that is the way of FC Internazionale,we were founded on that principle ) and will forever be embedded in history of football. This team overcame the hardest obstacles on it's way to glory and encountered some of the finest footballers of all time with tremendous success and the formula was a perfect balance of leadership, skill, fitness, determination, heart and passion and of course proper guidance.

They won it all.Final after final, game after game, with same conviction and no loss in motivation.

As we say goodbye to our heroes and set course for a fresh adventure, let's hope a new era will be at least half as successful as the one before.

my thought about all :

Julio Cesar = I still remind when we took this unknown player by Brazil , and loaned to Chievo . I would never have imagined he'd been a Legend of this club . I admitt it, my favourite Inter GK (seen) is Pagliuca,  he was one of my favourite players at the beginning and infact he was another GOAT GK ( Inter had always a great tradition of GKs, just thinking Handanovic seems a normal player if compared to Zenga,Pagliuca and JCa Laughing) also with Italia NT (Usa 94,France 98)... but Julio Cesar has touched higher peaks with us.
That save on Messi in semi-final against Barcellona is incredible. He plays in Toronto now, for me he could play still in Europe because he is not finished but he has same vice of many Brazilians : very attached to money. He didn't go to Napoli for this reason

Maicon : Another player came to Inter as unkown . I don't even remind when he was announced as player . He played in Monaco. But he became a difference maker immediately.  Fantastic RB  . iCafu was more longeval than him , because he plays many year more than him at high levels, Maicon had has not been the same professional (drinking habit) but when Maicon wanted to play... he was unstoppable. Named as best defender of Champions League 2010.

Samuel = personally the best CB ever seen . A bit underrated abroad , but I can't describe the sense  of security that he gave in pitch . Insuperable, named rightly The Wall . Legend also in Roma where he won a Scudetto  , and winning a Scudetto in Roma and a Champions with Inter (after 45 years) are significant milestones.  It could happen only with him in defence.
I would have him kept another year, he can be useful for turnover, but I understand the desire to turn by Thohir

Lucio = I remember well his transfer. He came after the Confederations Cup (played very well)  and it was a very unexpected signing , noone waited to see him to Inter. We bought it because Van Gaal decided to send him away , the impact with Serie A was not easy , I remember important mistakes against Bari in first match or Atalanta ... but then it began the Champions . And we understood to have bought a special player. Absolutely illegal against Didier Drogba , he totally deleted an amazing CF as Drogba.
TBH it was the best defensive performace by far seen by a defender. Considering also the immense value of opponent player.

Javier Zanetti = Javier Zanetti . This name is legend .
Another player came to Inter as unkown . Evidently tjhe best players with us are those that don't come in spotlight.
He entered immediately  in fans' hearts , and not just for that goal in Uefa Cup 98 .
An incredible player , not just for  longevity and loyality,  solid difensively , great speed ... well, we are know the prime Zanetti . I don't know if we will see again a similar player. A great captain . I am proud to have seen an Inter with Zanetti as captain

Cambiasso = He came to Inter as backup of Edgar Davids.
We took him to 0 infact. Davids was not brilliant in first matches and so Cambiasso played as his replacement.and once he was on pitch , he never came out from there . 10 years so intense and successful , the Esteban Cambiasso 2004-2011 was one of best players in his role, perhaps a bit underrated abroad .. but I think we all agree that Maradona was really ridicolous to not call him for World Cup 2010 :lol:Worst choice ever . I will be always grateful to Thomas Muller..

Thiago Motta / Chivu = Motta is probably the underrated player of Inter's treble. He is still the starter to PSG, just to testify his importance as player . His main defect is the injury prone .  The prime Chivu was that of Roma for me . I was not so glad when he played with us . He was a reserve in that Inter, except the final because Motta was banned and so Mourinho put Zanetti in midfielder and Chivu in bench . I was not quiet when Chivu had to mark Robben . Luckily it finished well for us. But I have still the shivers tbh

Eto'o =  We all know this guy , it' s still inexpicable that deal Ibrahimovic + 50 milions . Great job also in defensive phase in first year, but he was able to score a decisive goal in CL just to emphasize immediately his difference with Ibtrahimovic ... in second year he was an excellent CF . Then he preferred the Russian rubles.. he disappointed me much for this choice, but I can't hate him for this.
I remember him as an excellent total player and for his leadership, I still remember when he encouraged the team scared after the 1-1 conceded to come up offensively before of a line out.

Sneijder = I remember how he didn't wanted to come in Serie A, it's always difficult for a player to leave the Real Madrid, and just Mourinho was able to convince him.
In first year he had a Iniesta-esque performance, dominat also in World Cup , his second year was good too .. then he decreased and after he got injured for the nth time the club decided to brake the history with him . I'd preferred another final, but I love him still for what he did with us that year. It's difficult to say what it was his best match with us , I think Chelsea-Inter

Pandev = definitely the weak link of that group . He was bought as backup , Balotelli had to be the starter, but then Balotelli began to pose as idiot (as always ) and Pandev was the starter in that group . He was so from 16th round in then , the real starter. He had not surely the talent of Balotelli , but he was more disciplined tactically and his "worker" job was fundamental . Great match played in Inter-Barcellona

Milito = what other saying about him?
We had always great CF in our history , we had after 60s CF as Boninsegna,Altobelli,Rummenigge,Serena,Bergkamp, - Ronaldo- , Vieri,Crespo etc but  Milito is the man of history .
He is the CF who bring back the Champions League to Inter after 45 years.
His 2010 is unrepeatable, fantastic not just for goals but also how he played , absolute intelligence, rarely seen as him . probably the example of ideal CF.

Great post Vibe. Somehow 2010 seems both like it was yesterday and forever-ago at the same time. A few memories that stick with me from that year:

- The shock of the Eto'o for Ibra + mountain of cash steal

- Inter 4-0 Milan

- Milito's goal vs Chelsea, one of the loudest moments I can ever remember at San Siro

- Incredible comeback from 0-1 to 2-1 in the last 5 minutes vs Dynamo

- Balotelli's massive performance vs Rubin when it looked like we were up against the wall...Capped off of course by THAT goal

- Inter vs Siena, being down 2-3 with a minute to play. Sneijders wicked FK and Samuel somehow ending up at the strikers position and scoring at 90+alot to win it

- Amazing away support at Stamford bridge. Sneijders masterclass and Eto'o scoring in front of the fans

- Beating Milan 2-0 with 9 men. Sneijder's clapping. Mou's handcuffs.

- Maicon's CRACKER vs Juve

- Barca home leg, I saw Pedro's first goal then had to leave to go to class, felt a sense of inevitability the whole way. Checked phone when I got to class and we were already 2-1 up, followed along and was dumbfounded when I saw we scored again

- I could write an entire post on the away leg at Camp Nou alone. Among the most nervous and relieved that I've ever been in my life. So many stories within that game, but the most vivid thing to me about the game was Lucio & Samuel playing like they were Spartans at Thermopylae Molenation.  The selflessness of the team as a whole was incredible. (Sprinklers a close 2nd for most vivid memory)

- Remember thinking we might have let the league slip away when we lost to Roma, and thinking for sure that we had blown it when we drew Fiorentina

- Nervous as shit going into the final, but I remember thinking after Milito's first "this is OURS". I don't think I had ever expected to actually win it until that moment. As soon as we went up 1-0 I knew there was not a chance in hell we were going to lose. You could FEEL it.

- Finally getting to see Zanetti and Moratti hoist the CL. Lolling when Quaresma appeared seemingly out of nowhere to join the celebrations

- Milito. 3 Finals, 3 Game-winners, 4 total goals. Goals against the eventual or current Champions of 4 different countries (and the runner-up of a 5th). A more clutch season I've never seen by anyone in an Inter shirt. Molenation

- And last but certainly not least, for Mou there are just no words. He could do no wrong that year. Molenation

Great memories Proud
