Which players should Chelsea buy and sell in the summer?

I'd say a defender who can cover CB and fullback if David Luiz leaves. Also a CM and a striker.

At least one of the 3 current strikers will leave. Eto'o most likely imo.

I love Luiz and i would miss him at the club, but from a footballing standpoint we have enough quality where we can sell him. Terry+Cahill are automatic starters, Azpi will go back to RB with a left back signing. Ivanovic could arguably walk in as a starting CB on any team in the PL. Kalas like Ivanovic can play RB and CB, he turned 21 today could very well be the successor to Terry. Then there is Zouma.....which i know very little tbh.

Costa+Rodriguez/Moreno/Sandro+CM not named Khedira or Paulhino and we are set.

CB isn't an issue. We have many youngsters who can play there.

LB is, CF is the main one and CM could be an issue too.

Why would Mourinho bench the player he appreciates so much?
Why would Chelsea need to strenghten their defence? It's their strongest unit of the team.

Because they don't offer much in attack?

Azpi is not very effective on the left as he is on the right going forward. Ivanovic is good on the ball as a CB but not for a RB standard.

Mou likes his FB to bomb forward, at Inter he had Macon and Real he had Marcelo.

Plus at this point it looks likely Luiz will be sold, Mou would want Ivanovic as the team 3rd CB.

Hopefully Lukaku signs that new offer, buy Costa, striker problem solved. Ramires has been one of chelsea's most important players up on till this season, should not be sold because of one bad season imo.

If Ivanovic is no longer first choice RB, he becomes first choice CB.

I know Cahill has had a nice year, but lets be honest here Ivanovic is a better CB any day of the week.

In the beginning of the transfer window, hoped that we address our LB, CM, and ST problem. The signing of Luis, Cesc, and Costa absolutely addresses those needs.

Now with a month and half left in the transfer window, any signings would be the cherry on top of a great transfer window.
