La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
People shouldn't underestimate the impact 98000 roaring fans can make in Camp Nou. Atleti were quite lucky to get out with 1-1 last time around.
For the lulz. Last 5 league meetings at Camp Nou:
2012/13: FC Barcelona 4-1 Atletico de Madrid
2011/12: FC Barcelona 5-0 Atletico de Madrid
2010/11: FC Barcelona 3-0 Atletico de Madrid
2009/10: FC Barcelona 5-2 Atletico de Madrid
2008/09: FC Barcelona 6-1 Atletico de Madrid

people are overrating Atletico, but tbh i wouldn't be surprised if they win due to our shat form.

I'm happy with the result. Now to be the best we need to beat the best. Fir enough

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
that feeling when the goal was saved........
right then, the disappointment was clearly evident among fans.......some even looked like they just have lost the league....same felt looking at some of the athletico players on the pitch after the game.......even though they had an impressive results vs us recently, they know probably they will have to go through the hardest hurdle to reach title......Madrid resting players 2 or more weeks for CL will also be worry for them.......even to park the bus, you need the starting eleven.....so they need to play full team vs us .....
i am happy with the result.........specially when in a few days time the situation changed completely from giving athletico honor for winning liga to challenging them for title.....atleast we have something to play for in the last game of the season.....

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
Some of the posts in this thread are wtf? Like some still unsure of the situation?
I highly doubt Atletico would just park and not play their normal which means crazy tempo and press and counter for goals. Thats their best game. If they dont do that and just defend I would love that since I feel we can play better than vs their usual game which has shown several times this season really works against us.

LOL, people still believing we can beat Athletico. The best we can manage is a draw. We are so used to losing this season, the players are just gonna pretend to make an effort for the last 15 mins and ofc there's the typical quotes from post match interviews , "we deserved more from the game"

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
apart from the fact that atletico don't even need a win, even when they were going for it, we couldn't score against them (think supercup 2nd leg 0-0). So really, I'm not expecting much from this. The players will have to surprise me.

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
I just want to see the players give everything here. There can't be anything less- for the season, for the team, more than anything else, for Tito.
It's going to be hard no matter what...I'm not sure what to expect. We're going to need some magic from someone, that's for sure.
If we beat them though
I shouldn't daydream...

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
That last 5 match stat where we thrashed them is absurd....even though its in not so distant future, still it feels in me like a grandpa story....after when we faced the team 5 times in one season and failed to beat.....
Honestly speaking i dont have high hope for the game...but i will watch with my heart saying we can do it....
Another thing is A.Madrid will be extremely cautous about not loosing any player through injury or not to fatigue key players for CL..i am not sure whether thats blessings or not....

Is there any chance Neymar returns? At least from the bench?

Lionel Messi admits that he wants to win for Tito and i hope that they will win. Hoping they wouldn't ended up their dynasty I mean this season and hoping that goal difference between Atletico will still be infavour for them

At the moment it seems Pique/Alba are more likely to get back with the team before this fixture then Nerman.

Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
The latest on Twitter is that Xavi is not starting. Unless there is any injury or illness of some kind this is totally dumbfounding. If this is true then heaven help us.
Against a weaker team this may have worked but against Atletico it's enough to kill us. Cesc won't be able to play deeper. Iniesta's entire game will be ruined. The already weak defence will get very little protection from the midfield. I still can't believe what is happening. Although at first I was willing to give it more chances but now I agree with those who said long back that Iniesta and Fabregas together will just never work. In fact we need to buy a deeper midfielder this summer to get the midfield dynamics right.
How can we do this to ourselves in a title decider??? If anyone is online please comment. dani, alfred, alex, CB, etc. where are you guys on such an important day?

Not a surprise anymore...tata had been doing this in all big games lately...His reasoning to use cesc was never clear...after we knocked out of Cl i though he would understand his mistake, but it simply was not to happenmessixaviesta wrote:The latest on Twitter is that Xavi is not starting. Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
neuro, after your comment I went back and checked that line up. At that time Tata was playing an extra midfielder which wasn't a good idea but since when did he start this hare brained idea of dropping Xavi in crucial matches?
Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
Latest update says Xavi is in but Cesc will also play as a forward. At least this is better. Against Atletico being lightweight in midfield could have been the biggest mistake.
Re: La Liga Final: Barça 1 - Atleti 1
What? Cesc is twice the defender than Xavi.messixaviesta wrote:Against a weaker team this may have worked but against Atletico it's enough to kill us. Cesc won't be able to play deeper. Its just 50 mins and we are already out of steam! It really hurts so much to see this team struggles vs Athletico when they even play attacking....The once so called possession football that had been pride of us has no existence in this current Barca side....
