How to break the parked bus?

This is the thing which has stopped us from winning the title. Gone are the days were Lampard and Drogba assured you a goal, no matter the team.

There has to be a way to beat this style. If we can work out a way to do it, we will run away with the league if we continue the form against the top teams from this season.

What is everyone's suggestions? I will post mine later.

This has been Mourinho's biggest failure this season, for me. You'd have thought a manager of his quality, over the course of an entire 9-month-long season, when the problem has been apparent from Day 1, would have been working with the players in training every day and every week to remedy it. Yet not only have we seen zero progress in our matches against these kinds of sides as the season has worn on as one would expect to, our performances and results are indeed even worse against them now than they were earlier in the campaign.

How to overcome it? Damned if I know. A little less predictable, formulaic garbage and a little more creativity (cough cough Mata), as well as someone who could actually finish off a chance to save their lives, would certainly go a long way, though.

What really scared me from this Norwich game is that it showed the missing striker isn't the problem.

We didn't even create good enough chances. This leads me to believe that there are two main problems:

1) Our passing needs to be improved in the final third
2) Better link up play between the CM and the playmaker(s)

The way I see it, we need Matic to lay more forward through passes similar to how DL4 started the second half. When we take the ball to their penalty box, their defence is already back there and settled. It doesn't help when we just have 2 wide men trying to dribble their way through.

Ideally, the CM (in this case Matic) needs to have a better understanding with Willian/Oscar. It's clearly not a case of having players with terrible passing; we did really well on many occasions against Norwich where we passed our way through lost possession. We just need to make minor adjustments to the formations and how we approach the game.

I'd like to see us going back to the 4-3-3 with Matic playing alongside another capable CM and Oscar/Willian. Think of Essien-Ballack-Lampard.

And finally, a striker that has the combined quality of all our three existing forwards. It wounds weird but all of them are pretty much one trick ponies with Ba just good at receiving the ball with his back to the goal, Eto'o with his understanding of the game and Torres.. well.. let's go with determination.

- Get a creative CM that can move the ball much quicker
- Get a striker that can finish
- Don't only rely just on Hazard to create everything
- Willian and Oscar grow a brain and create something/ make better runs
- Ivan learn how to cross
- Move the ball faster, and more movement off the ball
- Take advantage of Set-pieces (every since Mata has left our goals from setpieces has decreased
- Start the game with more intensity

We seemed to address all the problems we had against lower teams and I remembered listing how to solve them.
