Yes especially if he plays at a similar level in the World Cup and has a good start at Chelsea next season, he will be a contender for sure.

Btw it was the winning goal but Atletico were already going through at that point. The "progressing" goal was scored by Adrian so I think it should be him winning the Balon d'or.

The same is true with C.Ronaldo's goals against Bayern, still doesn't diminish the fact that he scored in a semifinal.

So what are you actually trying to tell me? That it's not bad to score a goal in a CL semi-final even if it's from the spot? I'd agree with that.
