Right you are. I was hoping to see us play open, restraint-less stuff and get thumped 4-0. Sure, we'd have been humiliated and effectively dumped out of the competition, but at least we'd have played moral football. Unbelievable that Mourinho would rather get a positive result than play to entertain neutrals on twitter and footy forums. What's this game coming to?

Re: Mourinho should retire
Chelsea cost around 4 times what Altetico is worth.
Incidentally, Chelsea also fielded 4 DMs in their match against Atletico. Going into the Ubber defensive against one of the greatest sides in history (Prime Barca), or when you go a man down, is understandable.
However, going with 4 bloody DMs into a match with a team that is several rungs below you in the pecking order is just pathetic. Chelsea are a CL and EL champion ffs, they should muster enough balls to have more than 4 bloody shots on target.

That excuse was OK two years ago with 6th place league chelsea but not this current stronger chelsea with more talent and worth more. they weren't playing guardiolas barca or bayern. while this atletico team is good, they're no great attacking force and chelsea have more talent (or you would think) and shouldn't need to play this way.

I know. It's IMPOSSIBLE winning trophies playing positive football. IMPOSSIBLE. Never been done before, even after spending a billion dollars that has come at cost of lives of many innocent Russian men and women.

So what did people say when Atletico did this against barcelona?

Re: Mourinho should retire
Pls go poverty historians. 19th century football was ridiculously attacking, often playing with formations such as the 2-3-5. Even catenaccio would not be that shocking in this day and age.Arquitescu wrote:sree999 wrote:It was embarrassment for 19 century football

When did I bash Atletico? From what I saw they parked the bus vs Barcelona in the 2nd leg. Yet no one complains and calls it excellent defending by atletico. lol...

Re: Mourinho should retire
counter attack against a pathetic Barcelona defense. Did you actually watch the game? Atletico had the whole team behind the ball for 90 mins. You can't deny that fact

This, this, a million time THIS!!
Everyone knows what I think about parking the bus, but I have also always said that I understand why they do it against US. But this is *bleep* Atleti, not prime Barça. I wouldn't be suprised if Chelsea's bench would cost more than the entire Atletico squad..

I seriously doubt Atletico executed 12 successful counter attacks vs Barcelona

It's possible to win trophies playing open football and it's possible to win trophies playing pragmatic football. What's given you or anyone else the authority to decide that one is morally superior to the other?

You talking to me?
I never said that Atletico played offensive against us. Heck, in another thread I was saying that they play the same sh#it on a stick football that Mourinho's teams plays..
