Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
BBC wrote:
Newcastle United: Patrick Vieira no longer in frame for manager's job
Patrick Vieira is out of the running to become the new head coach of Newcastle United with ex-England manager Steve McClaren favourite to get the job.
Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Vieira, 38, City's under-21 manager, had been considered as a replacement for John Carver.
But both parties opted not to pursue a possible deal following differences over recruitment and transfer policy.

If Newcastle can't take a risk on a new young manager what top flight team can?
They should go for it. The only other experienced realistic options seem like a bunch of recycled hoofball fuds

Mihajlovic the favorite for the Milan job.Montella the 'alternative'-Sky
Mihajlovic is free. He's the obvious choice
Serbian Conte is a decent manager tbh.But you can only do so much if there's little to no budget.

What's the point with experienced guys who do nothing but make sure you are safe every year anyway?
Vieira might have tanked hard but I'd take the possibility of something better that he would bring than the same standard shit that I have dealt with since Robson was sacked.

I guess he is the lesser of two evils (four evils, if you want)
Really wanted Carlo/Conte but can't complain much, especially when you see names such as Brocchi and Donadoni

Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
Would you coach Milan ?
"  No  , I 'd never coach Milan . Perhaps I'd starve but  That's just how I am  and  I could never coach Milan . It is one of best clubs in the world but I was Inter player and coach (2nd) , I couldn't do it for respect towards Inter fans. I know this my way of thinking can rebound against myself but I am so ,  I could never coach Milan, Roma, Palermo and Genoa "  -
( Mihajlovic in 2010 )

Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
90 % of rookie managers are a failure .
Experience is so fundamenal to coach.
I don't remember novice managers to get good  results except Guardiola , Monk and Coachessi.
Good for Newcastle if they take a " real " manager.
Time for Mazzari imo.

Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
Everyone is a rookie at some point so that's not quite true.
I just want someone to be excited about someone for a bit lol, an experienced journeyman would be shit and boring from the outset.

I mean great clubs. Now Newcastle is not top 4 but I don't think it is worthy of relegation battle , it can aspire to EL places.
If I want to go in Europe my last choice is a rookie tbh

Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
I'll be very disappointed if Emery left Sevilla for West Ham. Even if West Ham have more funds (which is quite sad, really), they're a definite step down, and there's no way I can see them challenging for top four no matter how ambitious they are.
Napoli is a much more understandable destination for him.

Re: The Official Managerial Transfer Rumours and News Thread
The feeling is that Emery has accomplished all he can with Sevilla now - back to back Europa Leagues, gotten the club back into the Champions League, record points total - and that if a bigger club like Napoli or Milan (despite their current struggles) come along, he'll leave, especially if they're going to be giving him plenty of money to use in the transfer market. He may not want to pass up a chance to move on to "bigger and better" things.
And if that's the case there isn't much Sevilla can do to convince him otherwise because the CL money isn't going to make a difference. The strategy will remain "buy low, sell big" while Valencia and Atletico will spend big, and getting into the top four will be harder than it was before.
So I like to think that if it came down to a choice between Sevilla and West Ham, he'd stay with Sevilla. But as El Gunner says, money can talk. Even Hull managed to outspend Sevilla last year.

Oh god it's so depressing that West Ham seems to have a legitimate chance of Emery but he wouldn't go near us for obvious reasons and we are stuck with Carver.
