The Official Summer Transfer Rumours and News 2019
Sky Italy reporting Manchester United and Juventus have agreed a swap deal in principle involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku. They say it now needs an agreement between United and Dybala for the deal to go ahead.

watch me wake up tomorrow and find out he's snubbed us for Spurs or PSG ffs

A swap deal involving Lukaku and Dybala would be great for United and a massive loss for Juve.

Manchester United see Samuel Umtiti as alternative to Harry Maguire in their pursuit to sign a centre-back this summer. The English side are ready to offer around 50 million euros for the Frenchman. [le10sport via md]

would be tempted to sign Numptiti even if it is BS just so we can shatter another record by fielding the lowest IQ CB duo of Bailly - Numptiti in the league cup third round.

Numptiti is amazing though...if he could just stay injury-free. At Barça, he was unplayable, before his injuries I mean.

Yeah, I was actually quite envious of them when he performed so well at the start. I read that he had a recurring knee injury or something, though. He might not ever be able to get back to that level of performance.

Kovac doubling down. "I always speak the truth. What I said (about Sané) was absolutely right and is verified."
To sum up: Kovac is sorry that he said he was confident about signing Sané but also re-iterates that he was absolutely right to feel confident about signing him. All clear now.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours and News 2019
Let me try to rationalize this swap deal for a minute here.
First of all, let's be honest here, for anyone watched us regularly know that Dybala was in and out of the side and had a horrible last season. Why people still retain faith in him because of his overall body of work since he joined Juve and also the hope that someone like Sarri can revive him. I just don't think he is a good fit for the PL at all. He's as slow as a 35 year old, he lacks physicality and above all is a tactical problem. That lineup Frenzy posted is a disaster waiting to happen especially with Dybala as a RW. This has makings of a Sanchez 2.0 if you ask me. United is simply not the right club for him.
Lukaku on the other hand is certain to smash goals in Serie A against minnows as Frenzy just described. He will get 30 goals a season while massively flopping in big games. In the grand scheme of things he'll be viewed as a reasonable 'success' but we won't win the CL with players like him and this is the big problem. It reeks of shortsightedness especially since you have hired a coach now who has his own style of playing football. Very disappointing.
Frenzy can have his moment now but buddy, this is a lose-lose situation for both clubs.

Hardly the case because no matter how far you think Dybala has fallen, he's still twice the player Lukaku will ever be.
From United's perspective, it's a win-win because they'll be letting go of a donkey of a striker and getting a player who's very talented and is only leaving because he got put in the freezer by Ronaldo.
Not only it is a mistake for Juventus to let him go, it's also an unforgivable mistake to lose him in a swap deal involving Lukaku. No matter how much you think Dybala sucked last season, he's still worth more than that.
These mistakes happen when a club becomes insanely stacked that even their bench players would walk into the starting eleven of many elite clubs. We saw it with Madrid back when we were a great team, we saw it with Barça, and we all saw it with Bayern at some point when they were still relevant.
It's a good problem to have and it speaks volume of how far Juventus has come, but swapping him for Lukaku is straight disrespectful. At least if you have nothing to lose and want to take a huge risk, sign Icardi instead who has more talent in his little toe than Lukaku's entire body. You'll have to deal with his obnoxious agent and off-field shenanigans, but at least he won't suck the life out of you every week.

The more i think of it... there is far more chances that Lukaku would succeed at Juve, than Dybala would succeed at Man Utd
Problem is, i believe Dybala's/Icardi's potential is higher than Lukaku as Juve player. That's why it's a shit deal, but it does not put Juve in trouble.

That’s outrageously untrue. Lukaku in the right system is a fantastic player. If you got the right players around him, he is really good. He was brilliant in the WC not so long ago. Was tearing through Brazilian defense in that one match with Hazard and KdB alongside. Not to mention he is a proven goal scorer. You just need to have to play him to his strengths, which is not as a Target man, but a pressing forward who makes runs.
And how come Icardi for all the talent in his little toe has lesser goals than Lukaku last season?
And re: Dybala, well our wretched record with South Americans + our recent luck in transfers + his recent form, I mean I dont know, it can easily backfire.

I'm not a hater. You can ask Frenzy where many times I mentioned that it would be ideal if we swap Dybala for Pogba all last season.
Dybala has regressed compared to the player he was for us in his early years. He is technically very gifted ofcourse but for such a good dribbler, he actually has a pretty ordinary first touch, slow as hell and obviously not physical enough which makes me question if he can adapt to the PL, certainly not in an environment like Man United where they have been underperforming for years and a team that has no genuine leadership.
If he had to move to the PL, Spurs would be a far better option than Man United.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours and News 2019
Dybala's situation at Juve is somewhat similar to James' situation at Madrid from a few years ago. I think we sometimes overestimate the capabilities of South American footballers just cuz they have this crazy dribbling skills/technique.
I'll be genuinely surprised if Dybala becomes a success at United.

Paulo Dybala told Juventus since 2 months he wants to STAY. He wants to speak with Sarri in the next days, then he’ll decide about hs future, He would change his mind only if Sarri will say he’s out of his plans. (@FabrizioRomano)
