Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
If Everton make CL, they wont make it out their group....
Didnt Chelsea only just about scrape past PSG on away goals and with PSG more or less gifting it to them?
Now Everton and their merry band of loanee's and castaways are better?
Creating false player comparison..and then thinking it means anything
Some lame trolling

I think it's hilarious to be honest, that you believe Everton to be a better side than PSG.
if you want to go the rout of combining players and comparing them that way then QSG don't stand a channce I am afraid. Notice how I said Cavani is better than Naismith, if we use your argument of looking at it beyond individual (past) quality then Naismith has been alot better than Cavani has for QSG this season
Yes, Naismith with four league goals is 25 appearances!
Real Madrid and Barca have better individuals than Atletico, yet who is at the top of the league?
Your premise for justifying your bat shit crazy idea that Everton are better than PSG is flawed, pretty much like everything else you post.
Put aside your hate and bias you feel towards PSG for once and get off the Everton bandwagon.

If Everton make CL they won't get past the qualifying round. Probably get Napoli/Porto/Zenit*/Shakhtar*/Bilbao

Depends who they draw, I'd say. If they manage to get through the qualifying round I would imagine they'd be in pot 4, which is a hindrance, but get some of the weaker side from the other pots and they might scrape through.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
it isn't just about goals, it is about dedication, team work and most importantly not being the flop of the game for games on end
QSG wouldn't even make it out of the group if they ever got a tough group and Ibra didn't score those crazy golazos
It is not only Everton. Sevilla would win that shite league as well

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
Everton are the only Top 7 team to defeat Chelsea this season and it took a jammy last minute goal to beat them at home. Take away the prestige and pricetags of some of the players being questioned and there honestly isn't much between the two teams.
Imo, PSG would be battling it out for 4th along with Everton, Arsenal, Spurs in the PL. Fairly average team outside of 2/3 star players. Their current team is a bit reminiscent of last seasons Shaktar team except they have the Paris/French hype machine behind them.

I'm sure PSG will gleefully offer an Naismith/Cavani exchange based on your expert analysis.

I cant predict who they will get, but I am seriously struggling to name a 3 teams which would be in this theoretical pot they would overcome. Especially if they lose any of the loan players they have.
I'd say the weakest group this year was PSG, Olmpiacos, Benfica and Anderlect..swap them for Anderlect, are they making it out?
Or, Chelsea, Shalke, Basel and Steaua?
If they lose Barry, Deulofeu and especially Lukaku, plus dont replace them equally so....call that it wrap.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
I think they may have gotten out of this season's Group G. Porto and Zenit are decent sides, but under-performed massively. 6-7 points I reckon might have been achievable for Everton, and that would have been enough for 2nd.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
Barry will definitely stay, Deulofeu's importance to Everton is massively inflated..good winger but a squad player that's easily replaceable.
Lukaku will be huge loss as he's probably their best player but if they're willing to spend around £15M-£20M on a striker I can see Martinez finding a more than adequate replacement.

Re: Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea - First Leg
If Chelsea has a way to prevent Courtois from playing then they should take it, I don't see a problem there.. I would never want one of my loanee's to play against me, that should be a mandatory clause tbh

Maybe, Porto were shockingly bad and Zenit made it more because of how bad Porto were than anything....but still, I dont think so.

Replace with whom?
All these years of Everton struggling to sign average Joe's..even resigning average Joes they already sold (Piernaar), all of a sudden they will just replace these guys just like that?
Easy to say they will do this and that, but reality is not so much. Granted Martinez seems to have a superior eye for talent than Moyes.

Everton just got lucky with their acquisitions this season, will revert back to being irrelevant from next season.

lol at Saint-Étienne flop mirallas > lavezzi
lol at any current english midfielder > matuidi
lol at psg being garbage after reaching the champions league quarter finals two years in a row and only losing to barcelona and chelsea on away goals.

Let's have an Everton Thread (they deserve it as well) and keep this thread for what it purpose was.
