Remedies for a sore throat?

Woke up yesterday with an extremely sore throat accompanied by a headache. Tried Benylin, Panadol, Honey with tea but its not going away. I cba to go to see a doctor, would like to leave it as a last resort. Does anyone have any solutions to this?

Gargle with an aspirin tablet dissolved in water (don't swallow though).

It will go away in few days. Medicines hardly work for me.

Try eating hot soup though.

Interesting, might give it a try if i come down with the symptoms again hmm

I'm feeling better than before, though the soreness is still present. It'll wear away in a couple of days hopefully

I like to eat one of those hall cough drops every once in a while, but other than that...time. Hot soup, tea will all help but won't remedy.

Funny enough I got a sore throat the same time as you. I am just now recovering from this god damn cold. I have had honey and gargled salt water. Didn't help much. I just rode it out.

Them lemsip drinks are the only thing that's ever worked for me when I have a sore throat.

Don't get blackcurrent flavour though, i'd rather chop my own finger off and eat it than taste that vile flavour ever again.

cut ginger into pieces and boil with tea.. (whatever tea u make - i make it with black tea) boil it for 12-13 mins..

ginger is perfect for soar throat, it really works!! trust me!
