Where in there did I say that Arsenal losing in the FA Cup would be Chelsea/City Money's fault?

I never said you said it, rather you implied your past 8 trophy-less seasons have been because of Chelsea/City money.

I didn't imply anywhere that if Arsenal lose in the FA Cup that would come down to Chelsea/City Money. Stop putting words into my mouth please. If you have reading comprehension problem then that is your fault.
And our trophy-less seasons haven't been because of the two take overs? Think about it logically.
If Roman never made Chelsea or Sheikh Mansour never took over City. Do you not think we would have won the PL title in 04/05 and 05/06? or FA Cup in 08?

Plus that was right after a heavy defeat, so he wasn't in the mood to talk lavishly about an opponent who have just pasted his side.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
This right here is my point. What happened to all the years you got knocked out by small teams in the FA Cup & League cup? I had a looong post about that in the other thread. If we aren't directly standing in your way, then its pointless to blame us. For one, Chelsea/City money had no hand in you losing a cup final to Birmingham. That is a fact.RealGunner wrote:Blue Barrett wrote:I never said you said it, rather you implied your past 8 trophy-less seasons have been because of Chelsea/City money.

So even though you didn't say it directly(my initial post), you've indirectly implied it.

Nah I think, if anything, Arsenal's collapse will only motivate them to win the FA cup, where they are clear favourites now.
Also, might as well say a few words about the relegation and promotion battles, it's the time of the season, after all, to start to get properly excited about them. Non-PL fans look away now.
Norwich v Sunderland was the big relegation six-pointer today and I got to say I'm happy Norwich prevailed. Hughton has seemingly been under pressure to get a result in countless of games by now, only to get the result when he the most needed it. Such was the case today, and a big three points haul for them. Sunderland have 2-3 games in hand, but they just score too rarely. Their impressive cup runs have made it a season of highs and lows, but it might still end in the ultimate low.
West Ham had that fantastic win streak, but were absolutely horrible today. If there ever was a team in dire need of some creativity and technique in midfield, it's them. Carroll was amazing, naturally, I read a stat at half-time that he had won 14 out of 16 aerial duels.
Crystal Palace, West Brom and Swansea with away defeats to give their fans some relegation-related excitement.
In the Championship, Leicester have finally spent their way into the Premier League, after a couple of years of trying hard. They are 15 points clear from the 3rd place team with a game in hand. Can they do a better job next season than last season's winners Cardiff?
And would you believe it, Burnley are sitting tightly in the 2nd automatic promotion spot, enjoying a 10-point gap with 9 games to go. That random club who made a brief appearance in the Premier League in the 2009-10 season. Who became the smallest town to host a Premier League club. And now they look set to do it again! Hats off, quite remarkable.

Um, actually, I'm too relieved after our nervous win to fight you, so I'll just say best of luck to him (well, I don't really mean that, obviously) and hopefully for the Bluebirds-in-red-where-£10m-Zaha-is-still-restricted-to-substitute-appearances Ole can transfer his hatred to some performances on the pitch where they actually don't leak in six goals

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
Wow, how terrible for Arsenal. I really don't know how you classify this season for Arsenal.
I mean I don't know how you say they are part of the "Top 4" in the EPL. I guess there isn't a top 4 it`'s a top 3?
I mean I think we have seen that Arsenal's "Title Challenge" was really only that they didn't play any of the real top teams in the EPL until around December. When they have they have been destroyed and totally taken apart.
I mean today isn't a one off day, it's a trend now. Plus they spent money on Ozil and still the same issues you have year after year after year with Wenger in charge.
Many people thought spending money would fix there issues but the SAME ISSUES keep happening for like 5 straight years with this cast of players/coach's.
1)They still don't measure up to top teams in Europe or domestically
2) There injuries are still a major problem
3)They don't replace the players they sell (RVP this time) and they try to do it on the cheap (Giroud for RVP)
4)Wenger puts too much faith in "his players" when they are not top class players although he thinks they are
5)They still don't have the Steel/Grit needed in midfield or on the team in general and a top keeper for how many years running now?
I mean if I were an Arsenal fan, when is enough, enough? The SAME ISSUES happen year after year after year and Wenger is too stubborn to fix them.
Now Arsenal have the money to spend, do you really trust Wenger to use that money to get you over the plateau you have been sitting in for the last 5-6 years? When is it time to say goodbye to Wenger?
I mean you have a great stadium, are located in London, a great fan base and now a lot of money to play with. IMO I think it's time to stop fearing what will happen after Wenger. This is a job most top coaches would jump at now that the stadium/finances are in order.
I think a lot of issues have been sugarcoated by Arsenal's lopsided domestic schedule this year to make fans think they were actually challenging for the EPL title.

No team wins every single trophy they are in so there is no point naming few factors in some years while talking about 8 years in a continuous sense. These errors weren't there before Roman took over? You do know we lost to Ipswich town in the FA Cup final once right?
You are arguing about the last 8 years. I am naming you the Trophies we should have won if things didn't happen. You brought this point yourself.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
You probably would have won the PL in 04/05, but there's absolutely no guarantee that you would have won in 05/06 considering you actually finished behind United AND Liverpool and had like 69 points or so. That's bollocks.RealGunner wrote:Blue Barrett wrote:This right here is my point. What happened to all the years you got knocked out by small teams in the FA Cup & League cup? And yes, you've mentioned 2 league seasons and one FA Cup run. What about the other times?
Look, I'm not denying that Chelsea/City takeovers have played a part in what teams have been winning over the last decade but - as I've been saying - its absolutely weak to try to dump the whole thing solely on this. Its a part of the reason, not THE reason. United would have won the league every year from 05/06 up until last season if Chelsea & City didn't "exist."

Fair enough.
But I am not trying to dump it all on the money mate. It is an undeniable factor but of course part of it was also our own fault at many places.
I am not sure United would have won in 07/08 because we dropped 6 points to Chelsea that season but it's all an assumption.

We're trash away from home. (I'm saying this knowing that before today we actually had the best away record in the league, can you believe that)
And to think a few seasons ago we were better off away from home than we were at the Emirates.

Man, our form in 2014 has been amazing. Only slip ups been the famous KOLO Toure game, and that tactical blunder in first half vs. Villa.
I called it after beating Arsenal, that we can go and win every single game until end of the season. Everyone laughed at me then, so far 5 wins out of 5 since beating Arsenal now. 8 more cup finals left, 5 of them at home
Just shame that our home games vs. Chelsea n City are early kick offs. Love those big games to be under the light.
