Losing to Schalke at home last season will forever remain as the most disgraceful result in Arsenal's history. More than losing to Ipswich in the FA Cup Final or Fenerbache in the uefa final.

I believe many other teams who have made it to the round of 16 would've suffered the same fate in my opinion.

We're certainly better defensively compared to previous seasons, but again I'd like to see how we do against a top team. Even tonight Schalke could have easily scored with the chances they created. Also I'd like to see if we stick to our style against the big teams. Right now I feel we'd sit back and counter vs Bayern/Barca.

Alonso again with another impressive game. He's doing well in that 3 man midfield. Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo deadly up front.

That last one is what my mate and I said after that match. Schalke weren't exactly good either, but Real were unplayable today, and the way Schalke played they could've won against more than half of what made it out of the group stages.

our team is so complete at the moment. we haven't had a performance like this in CL since 2002-03. even if we are better at controlling possession now, we still have that deadly speed since Mourinho days. the defence is very good, though I feel it would be better with Varane instead of Pepe.

btw, this is our best squad since 2003, the depth is incredible.

ps: Di Maria on form is unplayable.

The attacking play by the front 3 have clicked so well in recent months. Not just BBC but Jese as well. Those front 4 are the best attacking options in the world. Their midfield is clicking. Di Maria's energy and Pressing is fantastic. Better than Khedira's ever was. Modric's tactical sense is really good. He knows exactly where to be when attacking or defending. He is always there to get a pass. He is what Barcelona lacks without Xavi.

In defence, they have like 10 clean sheets in last 14 I think? That's unlike Madrid. In the past Madrid had to concede a goal to score 4 in reply. Now they just score without conceding much.

I won't change my mind on this if Madrid lose to Olympiacos or something next round but it's there to see how with Ancelotti Madrid are really the team they wanted to be for all those years.

the goals we have conceded in 2014 were wonder goals.

I'm sorry if I don't share the same optimism as some.

The only times they have played anyone decent in La Liga this year they lost and comfortably too.

Not to mention the fap fest happens every year and has done for nearly 10 years yet every time they fail.

So sorry if I'm not as easily as convinced by the standard scrub rape.

Just like Bayern are the heavy favourites until I see them get beat, Madrid don't convince me until they actually beat an elite team for the first time in going on a decade.

Schalke played well? What? At least 4 of the goals were because of incredibly sloppy defending. Schalke never looked in control either or particularly dangerous. The one time they did score was because the shot was perfect and there was nothing to be done about it.
