Marcelo was very good offensively.

I watched till 3-0 and it was more competitive than the other match. What happened! The third goal was early in the HT2 and that possibly sucked whatever spirit Schalke had. So far I watched, it was four moments of brilliance (or imbecility) that separated the two sides.

I still think Jens Keller isn't a bad coach.

After all, Schalke didn't really play bad, they just missed their chances. From the stats, Real "only" had two times the chances Schalke had IIRC, but they made 6 times the number of goals from it. I guess that's a bit due to the experience - Schalke had up to 4 players under 20 on the pitch after all, two of them in defensive positions.

Moreover, as it seems that Santana (muscle fibre tear), KPB, Neustädter and Kolasinac (possibly broken jaw after a hit from Isco) are injured now, too

I'm personally not a fan of this formation, but it;s the one we have been using for the majority of this season since Sami got injured so we should stick with it.

Offensively speaking he was much better than good. Schalke had absolutely no idea how to handle him and eventually as the game went on they couldn't afford to double team Ronaldo and leave him free.

I think the biggest compliment this Madrid team can be given is that they played so well that Mole had to make this two year old temper tantrum of a thread to let off some steam lmao

But he has a point when it comes to us not really being tested against the other elites yet. Especially since we had probably one of the simplest and straight forward groups and Ro16 ties so far. I mean all the teams we played so far are nothing to really write home about in Europe.

Having said that you can't really discredit Madrid's performance last night. That is as good a trouncing as you're ever likely to see this season and in some ways really puts Bayern's dominance of Bundesfodder into perspective, Schalke were completely eviscerated.

I never really needed to let any steam off and still don't, it was a joke thread and still is. ( although I do find it an embarrassment without feeling very strongly about it )

And I think everyone knows Madrid played extremely well, and Schalke didn't (bar the first 10 minutes).

Anyways, Santana was disgustingly awful one of the worst individual performance I've seen from a CB in a while TBH.

Schalke are much better than this.

Though l saw this sort of result coming after their game on friday. ln unusually bad form atm. Whole team lacks desire/belief.

Neusdaterwhatever & Howedes are both mediocre players. As in Kolasinac.

But Santana & Matip are purely horrible defenders.

Can't wait to see Papa-Uchida-Fuchs be back and take 3 of the 4 Defensive Spots. Howedes can have the last spot if he wants but the former 3 should always start.

Hope Schalke gets Rode and he plays the DM Spot as Neusguy is always Meh. Never saw the hype, always thought he was mediocre.

Make those changes, a couple of buys, a great Coach and Schalke can even by CHL Semi-Finalists again.

Schalke actually started out well imo... what separates Madrid is that the front 3 are lethal this year. All are on top form and will crucify you if you make mistakes. I think Madrid scored 2 goals on the first 4 chances. Also, the defense for Madrid don't give up a lot of chances. You better score on the chances you have or it'll be tough. After the first 2 goals conceded despite playing Madrid pretty even imo, Schalke lost their edge...

Madrid demoralized them by picking them off despite a good start by Schalke.
