So many debatable options in the list,i dont know where to start.

lol I took quite a lot of time thinking of good enough players to make a top 5.

I'd be interested in reading the counter arguments but i can guess some of the objections

How can a goal keeper who has played less than 300 minutes of league football in over a year, still make those lists ?

My list is based on talent

Gundogan hasn't done anything this season and Modric has been better than Iniesta, should be based on form imo.

I know you've based some of the positions in your list based on this season,but i dont know why we should.

Cavani a top 5 RW really ? Could've easily added Di Maria as he's a RW by trait.
One good season by Ramsey makes him a Top 5 CM ? Same applies to Strootman.
Where there are the likes of Schweinsteiger,Kroos, and even Motta perhaps(who's a crucial player for PSG) who have been performing consistently for a while now.Dont understand why Modric is snubbed again.There's no Yaya either although i would think you would've forgotten about him.

Even if you've based it on this season,its still a bit of a contradiction.Pisczek has not played this year at all.Gundogan either.

And that CB list is honestly biased.Same Koscielny and Mertesacker who conceded like 11 goals in two games.Varane hasnt played much this year again.

Also Buffon has been better than Handanovic this year.Just saying.Also again,has Casillas even been playing much this year.All in all some of the inclusions in the list are contradictory.

I dint want to over-analyze but you asked for a counter argument and i'm giving it.

Mertesacker and Koscielny have both been one the best in the world this season. They hadn't lost over 2 years playing together before the Liverpool game where they had their first bad game. I do genuinely think they belong there. We had the best defensive record in the league with them at CB.

Martinez has barely played this season, I'd go with Alonso over him. He's been immense ever since he returned from injury.

Di Maria was poor at RW, however at CM he's improved.

Casillas has been impressive this season and he's also got a record of not conceding.

I don't think Alonso has been immense. I'd put Pogba though but he isn't a DM?

I'm pretty sure Pogba's only played CM or out wide for Juventus this season. Pirlo's the only one who mainly plays DM.

Neither Xabi nor Pirlo play as defensive midfielder. I don't know what you're on about.

Vidal/Pogba is like that because it all depends on our starting lineup. If we play an MVP midfield than Marchisio acts as DM with Vidal as CM. If we play a PVP then Pogba is usually more defensive than Vidal. If we play MPP then Pogba is more offensive than Marchisio. It all depends.

Other things I think people will qonder why:

Podolski has only played in 6 games, only starting 4 of them, yet he has scored 5 goals which were almost all crucial, and has been much more involved than before his injury.

Neymar I put in the ST section because from what ive seen he hasnt done all that well when hes played at LW. Hes done far better when Messi was injured so he played centrally.

Schweinsteiger has barely played but when he has hes been very very sharp. Add that to his talent and he couldnt be left out.

Shaqiri has been unbelievable this season. Today was just another showing of that. What a talent he is.
