Wouldn't surprise me at all if Mazzarri starts having him on the bench for the upcoming games.

Mazzari wouldnt play such an offensive line up even if his balls were on the line (which they are) we're more likely to see Hernanes in a 3 4 1 2 formation with two DMs in the middle. Something like the followin:

CB CB CB
Wing Kuzmanovic Cambiasso/taider Wing
Hernanes
Palacio Milito

If we scratch the 3 man defense Guarin will start

RB CB CB LB
Kuzmanovic Guarin Cambiasso/taider
Hernanes
Palacio Milito

and even if Mazzari is fielding one DM then Alvarez is more likely to start ahead of Kovacic.

I think Hernanes will definitely be a bit deeper than AM.My guess is something like this...

Papers are suggesting a 3 5 1 1 setup with Hernanes between Taider and Kuzmanovic and Guarin behind Palacio. If Botta is starting its in the place of Guarin.

This means: 1- give up on the 4 man defense dream, Mazzari wont do it. 2- Kovacic is now deep, deep down the picking order. 3- Mazzari is more likely to start getting results again so dont expect change anytime soon.

Sad news for a great player, he's had a very poor run with injuries this year.

it seems he will be fine and will play against fiorentina

for now only Sportmediaset says " MAYBE he has a thigh strain
(and Sportmediaset is not so reliable )
No other sources in Italy say too much about the problem.
it is only  a fatigue ( I can't translate " affaticamento " ) officialy ... for now .. we'll see ..

I honestly think you guys should scrap mazzari and go narrow at this point you just need to get your best players on the field

Hernanes participated in a small part of the group training. There is hope...

Hernanes hasnt trained with the group all week long. Best case scenario he will start from the bench, but there is always the possibility that he might not be called at all
