I dont know why you bring those 2 up? it was Sagna who had a shocking game and did *bleep* all game and were no where to seen. If he is looking for a contract he better change his shit.
I felt so sorry for Szczesny, Koscielny and Merthsacker.

Bump.
Sterling now has 9 PL goals this season.
Walcott has scored double digits in the PL only in one season, the '12-'13 one.

That's due to injuries more than anything else.
Still far too premature to compare tbh.

Sterling is gonna be world class at the rate he's going, something Walcott never achieved.

imo sterling has a 30% chance to continue at the rate he is atm, thats why its hard to judge youngsters to seasoned pro's. This time next season sterling could get an ankle injury, only partially recover and become awful again. or he could not progress, and only stay at the level he is currently.

Walcott could still reach world class level if he could just stay injury free.
On Sterling. I like the lad. Good player for his age. But I say let's see how he does over the next two seasons. So many players have came and gone so quickly, or have promised a lot but never delivered. So give it time.

Nothing in my statement is false.
Has Walcott achieved world class status yet in his career? No!
Will the rate Sterling is improving at currently at make him world class in the future? Yes!

Walcott was going to become world class at the rate he was going though, unfortunately for Walcott (should of joined Liverpool ffs) Arsenal physios are terrible and just got injury after injury. Just like the rest of the team. Although iirc, Theo's last injury was bad luck.

Re: Sterling v Walcott
Geniuses...
Never bet on a youngster to become world class until he performs a couple or more seasons long consistently.
Oh, how pathetic of you to compare someone who is injured... Art Morte has girlfriend left you ? you seem quite bitter lately.

If that's how you measure bitterness, then you must have failed to get laid at a dozen brothels
Anyway, I'm not even stating who's better. In fact, in the OP I'm saying Walcott is. Just two English players with some similarities between them up for objective comparison, though Sterling has taken a step away from wing-play in recent months.

Sterling's progress hasn't been what I was expecting this season. He's still only 20, though.

I stand by what i said, He needs to play wing for the next club or behind an agile striker.

Re: Sterling v Walcott
I dont know how good Sterling will be, I mean alot depends on his next club too. But I do still think he is better than Theo.
He has dimensions to his game Theo just never will have. Theo has always been so fast and has a desire to be a striker so it is natural that the main aspects he has developed are his movement and his finishing.
Sterling though to me is a midfielder who just happens to have the speed of a winger. I think he will and already does create goals for others and cause a big impact in between defence and midfield, meaning he is much harder to keep quite.

A year ago when Liverpool almost won the league. Yeah, things change in football. The rate at which Sterling was improving a year ago was insane.
He was benched a hardcore until December and was barely producing. And then he turned into one our important players in a span of a few weeks. By May (Man City/Norwich) matches he was our most important player behind Suarez. So given the circumstance when the comment was made, it was perfectly reasonable.
His development has completely stalled this season for whatever reason.
Hindsight is great isn't it you pleb.
