Raheem Sterling
By far the most talented youngster we've had for decade.
Beat more people in his debt than Downing/Henderson have done all season.
Hope he AT LEAST, regularly makes the bench for rest of the season

A breath of fresh air. Enjoyed watching him albeit for just a few minutes. Would be nice to see him feature to some extent for the rest of this season.

Re: Raheem Sterling
what do you guys think of the rumors with Spurs? I know we can't possibly be stupid enough to let him go, but are Spurs really interested?

Re: Raheem Sterling
He just signed a professional contract in December or so, I believe. There's no way the club would let him go in the summer. It's all paper-talk bullshit at this point.

Re: Raheem Sterling
No quotes in that report either.
He has a bright career with us. Harsh on Henderson though. He's not really a winger and his job isn't to beat a man.

Re: Raheem Sterling
I think there has got to be some truth to the rumors with Spurs because why else would Kenny all of a sudden start giving Sterling minutes. The reports i have read say that Sterling wants to be given more game time, so I guess the administration pressed Kenny on including Sterling in his match-day squads.
For us, supporters, it makes sense to give Sterling and other youngsters game time in the league since we aren't playing for much other than pride, but I think the situation has forced Kenny to play Sterling.
Hopefully I'm wrong, though!!!

Re: Raheem Sterling
Why else would Kenny play him? Maybe because the other game plans weren't working so he was trying something new? Or to support the comment he'd made less than a week earlier about giving young players time? Perhaps it was related to the Bellamy injury and our lack of wide players? Could it have to do with our league position and the low chance of 4th at this point?Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:I think there has got to be some truth to the rumors with Spurs because why else would Kenny all of a sudden start giving Sterling minutes. Plenty of possible reasons outside of the insipid and lazy journalism.

Given the source of that article I'm not happy with it being posted here, to be honest.

Re: Raheem Sterling
He gets a lot of hate with people thinking he's already the finished product, but he should make the right wing position his instead of playing Henderson there. Raheem offers so much more offensively, and is just as good as Henderson defensively. Sterling just needs the experience, he has the talent.

Re: Raheem Sterling
He needs a loan spell, what he offers offensively right now, isn't even good enough for a bench spot.

Agreed. At this age, if he doesn't play regularly in competitive games, he will flop hard.

Re: Raheem Sterling
He offers a lot more than Henderson (again on the right) r34.
Too many people are way too critical on him.

Re: Raheem Sterling
Yeah, Henderson on the right is just to make up the numbers, well, so to speak. Hendo never plays like a winger when he's being played in that position - and I don't blame him, he's not a winger. But he does come to the middle'ish quite a bit when he's playing on the right, so it's not that bad, but I do think we'd be better off playing Sterling, Moses or Ibe on the right rather than Hendo.

Re: Raheem Sterling
He's not good enough for LFC right now, which is why he gets heavy criticism. But talent is definitely there and he's very young. A loan spell would do him a world of good next season. Hopefully to a shit PL team.

Re: Raheem Sterling
How is he not good enough when he has 2 goals, a penalty win (not sure if that counts as an assist) in 4 games? He's our best "wide" player after Coutinho, and Coutinho's been too busy playing in the centre so far this season. He should be starting in that right wing role infront of Henderson.
All Sterling really needs is confidence and he'll get that with first team experience.
