U21 side to play WBA:
Illiev; Bellerin, O'Connor, Ajayi, Ormonde-Otteweill; Hayden; Campbell, Coquelin, Diaby, Crowley; Akpom
Arsenal leading already via a Crowley free-kick.

Unfortunately, Arsenal have decided not to follow in the steps of United, City and Chelsea and not live stream their youth games. So I'm afraid we're stuck with live commentary and whatever highlights they give us afterwards.

Can be arguable.. With all the social media and twatter shat, there are enough ways to hype youngsters anyway..

Crowley remind me of a certain Jack Wilshere back in the academy days.
Wilshere also used to score and assist like crazy.

Part two of Jonker interview:
http://player.arsenal.com/player/5392-jonker-on-the-academy
http://player.arsenal.com/player/5392-jonker-on-the-academy
That's [a focus on the academy] what Louis bought in Bayern Munich. It's typical for Ajax, typical for Dutch football and I felt very comfortable with that. When I spoke in the beginning with Ivan Gazidis, he explained to me the philosophy of the club, in line with Arsene Wenger. I felt very at home with it. It was nothing strange to me. It felt like this is how it has to be.
For me, it's very important that we have a coach like Arsene, because if a coach doesn't want to bring through players, you can immediately ask why do you have an academy. So I'm very happy Arsene extended his contract. Of course, we spoke to each other before I signed. We got to know each other, and I think it's fine between us because his goal is to bring young players and my goal is to develop young players for him.
I also asked, if Arsene might leave, what kind of coach will come. The people at the top of the club told me, if he leaves we will bring in another coach in the philosophy of Arsenal. They won't bring in a coach denying the academy. That was very important to me because this is a long-term project and it doesn't make sense to do this for a couple of years and then have the next manager say 'forget about this'.

Reassuring to hear that the club are focused on maintaining their vision of producing talent through our academy even after Wenger.

You're allowed to play up to three overage players.
Looking forward to seeing Crowley and Akpom link up. Akpom has 4 in 3 games so far.

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
This is the first season with two divisions. Last season, a league of 20 teams was split into two at the end of the season, and the bottom ten became division two while the top ten became division one. Arsenal had a crap year and finished in the bottom half, hence div 2 this year.
