I'm actually glad when Messi moves on, hopefully other teams fans are not so blind and proud, and will actually appreciate players if he helps them to win trophies.

Oh yeah, and good luck with having the consistency needed to win the league without Messi.

Celtic, bilbao and Ajax. Psg and Bayern were last season, which doesn't count seeing as we admitted that we were dependent on Messi in the CL last season.

I find it funny that you say that we don't appreciate the playerS who have helped us win throphies, when you have done exactly that to everyone who is not named Messi, while we have said that Messi is the biggest reason why we won the titles that we have won.

If anything, you should take your own advice..

Again which though opponents Barca won without Messi this season, so that it would warrant the notion, we can win comfortably without him?

Which players are you talking about? I always appreciate players, when they deserve it, you should check the player threads here. Usually I was the first to appreciate players if they play extraordinary, I had zero problems of appreciating players.

Stop ruining a good thread for christ sake

Barcelona have won against many teams this season comfortably without Messi. Fact. That is all I got out of what anybody said. Nobody said Messi isn't needed anymore, but rather that our dependence on Messi seems to have lessened due to the amount of other players contributing to scoring, the amount scored, and the comfort of many wins that we've had.

Stop trying to look for things nobody and argue them and maybe actually give your opinion on the subject of the thread- a mid-season report card (for this season)

Am I the only one in stitches at him using the term Barca "fans"?

Yes, I'm ruining it with reason.

I think this is for playing a lot less predictable what you have mentioned already. our messi centric game plan was way too predictable to other teams.

And so on, and stop acting like the same doesn't happen in every thread in this board.

I see both sides of this argument. Whereas last season we were pretty much useless without Messi this season we are at least well off for most games. Neymar has been a huge help in this department, whenever Messi doesn't play Pedro seems to score a hattrick, and Alexis is on the form of his life. Messidependencia is significantly lowered. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine we would have lost vs Ajax or Athletic with Messi on the pitch. And his influence would certainly be felt on big games.

Let's talk about Iniesta. His 2012 season was incredible but 2013 was very underwhelming in comparison, and it doesn't look like he's picking up form.

I think that he has improved somewhat in the last 1 and a half months. Before he was really bad, but now his problem is more inconsistency. He has made a couple of good games, but after a good game, he disappear in the next one. Obviously, he needs to improve, but it's atleast better than what he was at the end of last and start of this season.

Well we are talking about Xavi being tired, but i think it might be that his fitness is not 100% from all the european/world/liga/cl/copa etc. games. I think that is why he is also not being played that much this season and not because Cesc is there. I am just speculating of course, but why would he be so "bad" otherwise. It looks like the year he came from injury, i.e., not regained full fitness.
