The Falcao mystery
He's gone AWOL from training since 24 November after being substituted against Nantes. Now L'Equipe are getting on it aswell, "unexplained 'injury' and Ranieri's discomfort hints a move away from Monaco"
Could he possibly move after just joining 6 months ago? Which reminds me of the Spanish media in the summer who were claiming that Falcao has a clause which let's him for Real Madrid for a fixed price.

Re: The Falcao mystery
Falcao is not CL bound either
its probably their excuse in case he did leave due to there being a clause something their president vigorously denied in the summer

Falcao's face when he got substituted was priceless. I'm sure the video is somewhere on youtube.

I'm sure deep down he doesn't want to be playing for Monaco anyway. There's plenty of better clubs like Arsenal/Chelsea/maybe Real Madrid who could use him.

Re: The Falcao mystery
Anyways the problem is that Falcao can't settle in ligue 1. He doesn't like it. He doesn't like the manager nor the football Monaco plays.
If it wasn't for his 500k p/w. I'd love us to go for him.

Re: The Falcao mystery
my theory is he will be fine with a massive wage drop so long as he goes to an elite club.
he used Monaco to get rid of his third party ownership and now other clubs can buy him without as many problems..
thing is why would Monaco sell they have no reason to.

Lmfao, tbf Quags was equally pissed when he was banging them in last season and got subbed off just after half time
Falcao knows he's by far their best striker, you don't sub off your best striker so early unless they've been absolutely piss poor. Dat man management

Re: The Falcao mystery
yeah that's real he makes about 10 millions net per year, no taxes
but yeah, he would probably settle for less wages if it means leaving monaco. he is in his prime and he isnt enjoying himself professionally.
a shame he wouldnt fit well between CR and Bale

I know right, that's an obscene amount of money.
And his reaction to getting subbed was pure comedy. He had to make sure what he was seeing was actually true lol.

Re: The Falcao mystery
People who know nothing nothing about this spouting nonsense. Falcao had been playing through thigh pain for a couple of games. Sure, he didn't want to come out... but he was slowed and had stopped scoring. Just wasn't himself. So after that game, they decided that Falcao would not play until the pain was completemy gone. Any thigh issue takes a min of 10-15 days to get healed... if it's a more than minor, 1+ months.
The lack of info from Monaco is typical. They did the same with Moutinho and Toulalan early in the season, but nobody cared. the idea is that you want the opposition to prepare as if you have everyone until the day you announce the squad. Just how they roll.

Falcao this evening:
"I am very happy at Monaco. I don't have any issues with the manager, just my thigh. It's getting better and i should be back soon. There's too much speculation. I have 5 years left on my contract and i am very happy here."

He's got no one to blame but himself. Sold his soul for cash and is now regretting having to play in front of 5k fans in a nothing League.

Wasn't he pressured into it by the people who owned his rights or something?

Re: The Falcao mystery
I live in the area and actually go to Monaco often for work... let me tell you this: Falcao is extremely happy. He's making 10 mil net, just got his first baby and is living on the French Riviera like a king. To boot, he's on a club that is only 2 points behind PSG and is almost guaranteed CL next year. They will get more great players too. Monaco is a small place and everyone talks about how happy he and his family are. They may not get the crowds at home because it's a small place... but Monaco is going to be very good in CL next year. Not elite obviously; but just below that.
So hate all you want but, in the end, I absolutely don't blame him for being happy in Monaco.

Re: The Falcao mystery
He wasn't pressured he did it for financial reason and his family... he was expecting a new child. Monaco doesn't have all the postgame media requirements that other good teams do... he gets to play football and then go home to his family on the French Riviera. Very smart guy tbh.Firenze wrote:Gil wrote:He's got no one to blame but himself. Sold his soul for cash and is now regretting having to play in front of 5k fans in a nothing League.
