So boys, he's gone. All sources in italy reporting he's gone to Real Madrid for 35 mil+bonuses that could go up to 40 mil
Thoughts?

Obviously I am dissapointed and would have wanted him to win with us but that's a lot of money needed to balance the books. We did pay 30-35 for kondogbia and jojo 15 mil or something like that.
Now, though, the pressure is on mancio, he got rid of both shaq and kovacic and if they do well and we don't, he won't hear the end of it

Hope this is another Ibra deal..at least now we have the moneys to complete the team

He's midfielder . Not a CAM  (trequartista, infact the McAgger's title wasn't correct tbh) , he was scrub when he played as CAM.
Basically he gave his best as mezz ala ( I can't tanslate him in English , inside midfielder ? @BC help me...     just to make the idea, iniesta-esque type of player)
He is very talented but inconsistent ( as most Balkanic players lol) , basically he must improve temperamentally but he has future on his side . I believe I ' ll miss him.

I think Kovacic is too good to be benched in Madrid but then again its ReaL Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti was also looking at him based on what i read when he was there, with Carlo there that move would have been ideal for Kovacic. I just hope Rafa wont do what he did with Jorginho in Napoli.

Yea well, Kovacic is going to Madrid as a prospect, not as a starter, and if given the choice he should go to a team like liverpool where he can start week in week out.

I'm hating the fact that we're losing our best midfielder and im also worried that we wont reinvest the moeny we're getting. Im just hoping we sign a winger and a LB.

And im really not excited about the coming season. We had a terrible preseason by all measures and couldnt score for shit, and now we're losing our only creative midfielder...

I don't think he will have a good time at Madrid. He's talented and a joy to watch when he's on fire, but he also lack consistency, and this will be an issue for him in a club like Madrid that is already packed in midfield with more established stars than him.

This pretty much shows that nothing has really changed... Thohir was supposed to be about a youth project, yet he treats youngsters the same as Moratti, which tells me the problem is somewhere deeper than that.

How many times have we seen our talents starting on the bench, and when they come on they are given a different position and a role every time? How do they expect to settle in a kid like that? And then they can't get any consistency, just an occasional flash of brilliance and then get sold...

We've seen it so many times it makes me hurt.

I believe the Kovacic's talent is definitely real , but Real doesn't look like the best place for him.




This was the  last match of Zanetti. It had to be as an handover. But we were deceived. Enough agreed with Vibe.

Surely 40 are much in our conditions ..and Real is not Stoke ... but no comparisions among Kovacic and Shaqiri for me.

Losing Kovacic specially in this sudden fashion is disappointing but if we manage to get the right players we need for the wings and LB I can live with that.

Kovacic was basically starter with Inter in 3 years, he left just because the Real Madrid ( not Spurs ) offered 40 mln for him. Stop.

Agreed, considering he is talented but not irreplacable as seen so far. we ' re not talking about Eto'o in 2011 ( his selling was the end )

I think his comment about Pirlo comparison was more of defending him against the critics of him not defending well. As for Spurs, Baldini was influential if this is about Erik

Kova has always been our star to be, but never THE star. he has never been used well neither by mazzari nor by mancini. i think the decision to sell was always present but we were waiting for the good offer. the press wrote about Kova in registra and that he will master this position, and mancini always praising him, some marketing just to get a better offer. we have been looking for DMs since the start of the mercato, and with kondogbia in, kova for sure would have been sacrificed.
it was emotionally bad to lose our prospect, but maybe 40 millions are too good for him, especially that i am convinced that he was not preferred to mancini, so he could go for a lot cheaper next year if we dont make CL.
i just hope now we can make some decent transfers to complete the team (Perisic, cover for icardi, LB so i dont see juan in this position)

More than if being used properly or not, the question is: "Was Kovacic tactically compatible?" Kovacic has played in every position in midfield and his performances were always inconsistent.

Now the new N° 10 will be Stevan Jovetic ... It looks like the best choice

'Im starting to lose faith in mancio tbh, not because of kovacic but because of the fact he sold shaqiri 6 months in, wants to get rid of santon 6 months in, as well as podolski but that was only a loan anyways.there's also reports inter aren't convinced with montoya! I mean if it true thats just ridiculous, it's like he's just getting the players without scouting them

6 month is a short time to lose faith in a coach who has won a lot in his career. Now if it was some average no good coach who couldn't win anything in his career I could somehow agree. But we need to let Mancini to build his own team before making such judgments.

Starting to lose faith, I am still behind him, just not as much confidence as when he first came here, we'll see what happens
