Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
Higuain is good and very young. But Juve got Llorente, Tevez and Peluso for 15mill........half of what someone will pay for Higuain. Juve does incredibly intelligent business. If they can swing Jovetic and get Matri and Quags (and maybe Giovinco) out the forward line will be terifying. Lorrente supported by Tevez/Jovetic/Vucinic is lethal.

LOL......is that how you judge footballers. If that were the case, Matri would be Diego Maradonna.

Am i the only one who's disappointed that Tevez is getting #10 shirt? I know he probably asked for it and Juvi didnt want to create any issues over a trivial matter but that is shirt is too big for him

Well after all the player is remembered not the number. I mean we had trez wearing 17 and after him Bendtner wore it but no one here remembers Bendtner's number because he made no impact.

I can't speak for all Juventus fans, but at the end of the day it is only a number. We can't forget that Del Piero took the number as an unproven kid from Padova and in his own view did not want the shirt number retired because everyone has the right to dream about wearing that number.

Obviously retiring #10 is not an option although Napoli did it, but in my opinion the legacy of this shirt and the fresh memory of ADP dictates that it goes to someone who could carry it for a long time along with the arm band, not someone who will leave in a few years.

Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
What number did you want him to wear? 82? Settle down...
Numbers on the back doesn't matter. At the end of the day, it's "only" a number. The name of the back the shirt means a whole lot more than the number.

Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
Carlos Tevez was also of interest to Milan, Anzhi and Monaco before accepting a move to Juventus, his representative has stated.
The Argentine international completed his transfer to the Turin giants on Wednesday after a deal was agreed with Manchester City.
Milan were also very keen on the striker, but they were not in a position to make a bid for the forward.
“Milan are a little angry? I’m sorry if that is the case, but Carlitos wanted to join Juventus,” Kia Joorabchian told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Anzhi really wanted him too, a club where he would have earned a lot more money, but he wanted a club with a great history, a rich tradition and, naturally, with an ambitious and important project.
“Carlitos chose Juventus because he still wants to win in Europe before returning to Boca Juniors. He wants to help the club win their third Scudetto in a row.
“Monaco? Yes, they were also there. We saw each other and discussed him, but the offer from the Bianconeri was the most engaging.”
The Old Lady are looking to strengthen this summer in an effort to compete in the Champions League.
“I saw Bayern Munich a lot and Juve were one of the few sides who caused them problems,” Joorabchian added. “Tevez can help to reduce the gap.”
The German giants, who went on to win the competition, beat Juve 4-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Carlitos
As far as getting the number 10,i dont mind it at all, infact i think he'll be even more motivated to perform in this shirt which has held a lot of weight with a lot legendary players donning it.Hopefully we get the best returns out of him.
Cant wait for the new season to start already !

Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
Seems like all the Italian papers are bigging him up to score on the eve of this occasion.
Not scored a CL goal in four years.Cant find a better occasion to break your CL duck or atleast i expect a really good performance from him today.

Brilliant game.10 goals in the league already and 2nd in the Capocannoniere list.
If he only he was a bit more clinical in the CL.

I want to think he's doing very well but to be honest I don't even take Serie A seriously after Juve got eliminated by Galatasaray.

Juve's elimination shouldnt project on the quality of the league in any way.You wouldnt be saying these things if we hadnt conceded that stupid last minute goal in Istanbul.
Juve's disappointing results(where we were really struggling for form) in the first two games is what caused the elimination. We probably would've even managed to go through if not for that horrible excuse of a pitch in Istanbul.
Shit happens.Man U got eliminated in 11-12 with inferior teams in the group.Chelsea last year,Man U in 05-06 etc.
One thing i can say though,is that the defending quality has dropped in this league.

Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
I don't want to sound too harsh but Italy has got one team from Serie A in first knock out round of CL and that's a Milan that doesn't resemble anything to the Milan I had known as a kid.
Fair play to Napoli; they probably would have gone through ahead of Milan had they been in the same group but overall the quality of the league has dropped. There should be no denying that.
10 years ago the likes of Hulk, Falcao, Moutinho, Witsel would have chosen to go to Serie A but now you get top guys like Ibra and Thiago Silva leaving Italy to play in France.
Serie A needs money. Lots of it.

Re: - El Apache | Carlos Tevez
This is the 'harsh reality' where everyone is aware of but i cant agree when one suggests Juve's elimination was down to the quality of the league.Dortmund for example went from group stage flops to CL finalists in the space of a season.
It was a big failure but with some really necessary tweaks we can bounce back and do well next year as there is talent in the squad.
