Real Madrid have asked Juventus for a meeting to discuss the possibility of signing Paul Pogba, it’s suggested.

El Confidencial report that Los Blancos have requested to meet with the Bianconeri hierarchy to enquire about the France international.

The former Manchester United youngster has been heavily linked with a switch away from Turin this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, the Spanish giants and his previous employers all supposedly keen.

Marca claimed over the weekend that Madrid assistant Zinedine Zidane had set his sights of signing Pogba for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

And El Confidencial believe that the wheels have been put in motion to start that process, by asking members of the Juve board to meet.

Whether they will accept that proposal however, is another matter.

Juventus’ midfielder Paul Pogba says he really wants to win the Balon d’Or one day but admits it will be a difficult task.

The 20-year-old is also inspired by the chance to play with players such as Gigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal on a weekly basis.

“I want to be the best and win the Balon d’Or,” Pogba said during a video-forum with Juve supporters.

“To do it I will have to improve all facets of my game.

“I need to learn from great players like Buffon, Pirlo and Vidal.

“Here at Juventus there is everything but you always want more.

“Our stadium is the nicest I have ever played in.

“What’s special about Juve? Great players like Buffon, Pirlo, Vidal and many others.

“I am happy to play alongside them, they are the best in Italy and if I want to be the same I must learn from them.

“When I do something it’s because I want to be the best, I will have to make a lot of sacrifices but I hope to win the Ballon d’Or one day.”
