Why did Rick have to shave ffs. Looks too bland and generic, could have just trimmed it imo. Oh well, they had to make a point of him cleaning himself up after the long journey he's been on. At least they showed scissors and a razor.

The Walking Dead II - Page 32 Empty Re: The Walking Dead II

Post by Art Morte Mon Mar 09, 2015 6:23 pm

Just watched the last episode of season 3 as a warm-up to tonight's brand new episode.

Michael Rooker's acting as Merle was brilliant all season long. The ending was a little bit lame, but a good season overall, had only seen bits and pieces before.

Btw, what do you guys think about the splatter element in this show? Good or bad? You know, the exaggerated blood and slashing and smashing. I find it sometimes irritating me a little, although generally speaking it suits the show well. But sometimes I just find it a little ridiculous how easily any sharp object starting from a pen knife goes through the walkers' skulls. Or how you can make pancake out of a human head just by trampling it under your boot. Or the scene in season 3 where Merle had tied Michonne onto a wooden post, while he was stealing a car, with a piece of string or thin rope and Michonne was able to behead a walker - through the spine and everything - by getting its head against the post with the string around its neck and then just pulling. I don't know, sometimes the exaggerated splatter element annoys me a little.

Rick = Shane confirmed

Willing to kill innocents to protect his family ✔

Willing to sleep with married women with a son ✔

Takes what he wants because he knows that worse comes to worse he is stronger than anyone in this group ✔

I'm sure we can come up with more similarities if we try.

Btw did any of you catch this?

Episode 12-16 titles:
"Remember"
"Forget"
"Spend"
"Try"
"Conquer"

Dale said this in season 1.

I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you may forget it. For a moment, now and then, and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it.

ok episode.

Carol's scene with that kid Shocked no efs given by her.

It's obvious sasha is going to die in the upcoming episodes. The writers are building up her emotiional scenes for the finale or maybe before it.

Rick is gonna bang that blonde mom.

What happened to Gabriel?

Another Alexandria building episode. Nothing much happened but I guess they are trying to introduce and build the character within the town.

Think I like Alexandria so far. Although you don't know who to trust and who to not.

Stone Cold Carol's scene with the kid was amazing. Best scene of the show. The way she turned from I'll bake cookies to I'll leave you for the walkers. Unreal acting.

Rick is so thirsty atm rofl but I can't blame him. She is giving so many mixed signals atm. Also I don't think all is well between her and her husband. He was completely different when he first talked to rick. He is probably abusive and a drunk in the background. Could be why she is giving the mixed signals.

Sasha needs to go. Can see her, Noah and Gabriel all gone soon. Hopefully they don't treat any of them like they are worth the 40 minutes.

Daryl was great this episode.

That horse tho Sad

I wouldn't mind spending a full season or more in Alexandria. I hated the prison because it was visually so depressing, but Alexandria has bright color palette, a ton of interesting characters and the new characters are actually fleshed out (Aaron and Eric feel more like actual people than anyone from Woodsbury ever did).

They hired good actors to play the main roles at least. Eric, Dianna and Jesse are all instantly likeable(or interesting) characters. In comparison, governor was the only one people got invested in from woodbury.

Think Alexandria will be there for a long time. Not a spoiler but the biggest and the best arcs in the comics happened at Alexandria. One of them mysteriously named 'All out war' hmm

Thankfully this isn't filler.

Maybe the actors are better, but I think it's the writing and direction that has improved dramatically. The new showrunner is willing to spend necessary time to develop characters and let them grow. The flip side is that we also get 2 episodes like the beginning of the season that were super depressing.

I thought the previous episode was a bit non-event, but this one had even less happening. I get it that you have to introduce and build things up in a new place before you can play with them, but I hope something starts happening now, we've been in this current "just chilling" mode for 2-3 episodes now.

What was that ending, Rick's bonding with the walker through the wall, with a semi-crazy expression on his face? He misses being on the outside?

About "Rick being the new Shane", I both like it and don't. That hitting on the married blonde, I thought it was really tacky, I mean how straightforwardly it had been written. I guess I'm just hoping they won't make Rick too bad a guy, because the show needs him as the (mostly) good guy, imo.

Yeah, it seems really obvious, a bit too obvious. Therefore it would be great if it didn't happen, but if it's going to happen, it's been made too obvious, imo.

I guess I haven't been that impressed by the second half of this season, but plenty of time to turn it around.

Yeah Alexandria is good. Like BC said I like the new scenery as well. I just hope they don't turn it into a soap opera. Something major has to happen though before season ends. 3 episodes left. Remember we get a 90-minute finale.

Daryl becoming the moral compass of the group, (he was always a gruff good guy, sweet at heart but thick skin) rejecting the gun while Rick takes it, makes a move on a married woman and then considers whipping his gun out because her husband lightly patted her back as they walked together.

Yep, definitely going in opposite directions, that crazed look and staring at his hand while the walker banged on the outside wall was reminiscent of the Shining, that Jack Nicholson batshit crazy look.

Liked the episode overall, something is going to happen but if Daryl dies we riot. I accept anyone but Daryl.

Take Sasha, Gabriel, Welbz, Rosita (w.e her name is), the other unimportant chick who was with Abraham, the fat woman guarding the chocolate, leave Daryl alone.

There was some clever Morgan foreshadowing in this episode again, I'm sure he will appear at some point this season.

*bleep* Rick and Carol, I'm done with these two scumbags, they are *bleep* lost and have dropped a new low in this episode. From the leaders, Michonne and Daryl are the only ones I'm rooting for anyway, I hope they can find some happiness in that world and they are atleast working on it although slowly.

Good episode this one.
