Regarding Rooney, these ate professionals. If united didn't wanna sell Rooney, that's their right. This is a separate case.

Plenty of reasons, First, he is my favourite player, a 2 time player of the year and was a part of a team which won two European trophies in two years. I dont think Mata will be the success for them. Phil Jones wont chase down the ball the way Ramires and Luiz would when Mata would lose it and then jog off in the other direction while looking towards the linesmen.

They'll have to build their squad around him, and even then I am not convinced he is enough to get them to the promised land of Champions league football. It took a much better group at Chelsea to get him that. Özil to Arsenal was completely different seeing as Arsenal already have a decent squad. Manchester United are in total rebuild mode. Mata wont change that either. They'll have to spend a lot more money.

Arsenal lost their opening match before Ozil signed, it's not about the player, it's about the mood he brings to the team. Mata will change the dressing room and make every one of Utd's player's play 50% better.

Even their scrubs will do well.

What mood does Mata bring? He's lazy.

He jogs across the pitch nonchantlaly and when you dont have the ball you might as well be a man down. Why was Torres putting in more of a shift in the middle of the pitch than Mata during his time at Chelsea?

Torres gets crap for being crap, which he is, but he would at least try to impose himself on games. Mata is anonymous if someone is not constantly feeding him the ball. Mata is no inspirational leader figure like Özil. He is a follower.

Mata is so desperate for playing time ahead of WC, he'd sign for Tranmere Stanley.

You really think he'd go to play for Moyes if PSG/Monaco/Atletico/someone else matched Man U's offer ?
