Re: Best U19 talents in the world
I think free_cat pwned us all with that. Blatter has screwed up this kid's development temporarily though.free_cat wrote:Also, I forgot to mention a player that is truly the best U-19 player in the world, the problem is he is only 15 right now: Lee Seung Woo.
Read this:
Before his enforced departure from Spain, Seung-woo had been christened as “The Korean Messi” and was scoring goals for fun. 38 goals and 18 assists in just 29 games for the U15s certainly show that he has talent. At a similar age Messi notched up 37 goals in 30 appearances on his way to becoming a Barcelona legend.

Re: Best U19 talents in the world
people always pick the best player in the world and compare any youngster that shows the slightest resemblance to him, to him. Probably will be closer to David Bentley than lionel messi
Anyway, for my money halilovic is the most exciting u19 talent that I've seen playing. Then if we talk about youth players, of those that ive seen Daniel Crowley and Patrick Roberts look like massive talents (both 16)

Lucas Piazon has to get a mansion on here, he has been the best player in Eredivisie. He is the main reason why Vitesse is in first place in their league.
In 14 games he has 8 goals and 7 assists.

Re: Best U19 talents in the world
He was labeled the new Kaka, but that was mainly due to Piazon similarity to Kaka in physical appearance and they both come from the same youth club. Piazon is more of a wide player/SS.Valkyrja wrote:wasn't he the new kaka ?Blue wrote:Lucas Piazon has to get a mansion on here, he has been the best player in Eredivisie. Oliver Torres is overhyped to no end. He will not become the best midfielder in the world at any point in his career.

Oliver Torres will be very good but I doubt at any point in time he'll be the best. Pogba and Gotze are only 20 and 21. I doubt he'll ever get better than them two.

Re: Best U19 talents in the world
Götze is a forward. Oliver is midfielder.
Of course Atleti isn't the best environment for a midfield maestro to develop as their football is industrial and based on grid and steel and not pass and move. They waste their playmakers in wide positions. He needs to come home to Barca to realize his potential tbh.
Also: Arq, pls go. If his name was Oliverexte you'd write a text of biblical proportions how he's the next lovechild of Xavi and Pirlo (which he is tbh).

Canales, Muniain, Sarabia, etc. GL has a tendency to overhype Spanish midfielders, only Thiago and Isco have become something, but neither has actually met the hype yet (and it looks like Isco is too limited to actually succeed at Madrid.).

Re: Best U19 talents in the world
Canales and Sarabia were only hyped by Mehdrid fans. Muniain was only hyped because he debuted in La Liga when he was 7 or something and dribbles well. Endproduct or vision is nothing special. Isco is easy on the eye with great turns and touches but he can't even pass. He would thrive if he played on the wing as a wide forward. Taking on players, coming inside and scoring a couple of goals and creating from out wide like Pellegrini used him in his 4-2-2-2. Never as a central (attacking) midfielder where the entire play has to flow through him. Mehdrid bought him because he's Spanish and yeah ... because he's Spanish. Mehdrid are now the poster child of Spanish football.
It's clear as daylight that Torres' passing range, vision and maturity for his age is on a completely different level to all of those mentioned players. He's completely pressing resistant and he carries the ball well in tight spaces. He doesn't lack anything. Wish Barca would buy him.

That's the thing, Oliver Torres passing is quite bad to be the best midfielder in the world. I doubt he can magically become an elite passer.
It's true that he can hold the ball very well in tight spaces though, but his passing is not good enough, especially his long balls.

This post seems surreal to me. His long passing in particular is one of his specialities.

This video only shows good passes, but he has a very erratic passing.
