Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Comfortable with Gabriel standing in for Mertesacker. He's done really well and more game time will only push him and Per to play better.
Would like to see Wele play before the FA Cup final, so he can collect his medal.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
You could almost sense it with Wenger's words
Before International break it was "He should be back in training after"
But after the international break it was "He has been progressing slowly"
lol.
Wilshere should just go and live in Qatar for a year while doing nothing.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
I know I am repeating myself but Wenger needs to accept that Wilshere cannot be played in attacking positions, atleast not until he is fully healed.
Wenger himself has said before that he thinks Wilshere plays best deep in midfield, I don't know what made him change his mind recently.

Jack needs to take some time off from football, at least a year or he wont have a career.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
He's flipped-flopped on Wilshere's best position enough to suggest he doesn't know for sure. Maybe he still sees Wilshere's ability to carry the ball forward through midfield as more important than anything else, since Rosicky is the only other midfield he has that can do that. He might also look at England's midfield make-up (one regista-like player, two work horses), compare it ours and think Wilshere playing deeper simply wouldn't work as well.
But then, you watch him play for England as the deepest midfielder and it's a fact that he doesn't get his taken out nearly as often as he does playing in an attacking role for us. He'll still gets some heavy tackles laid on him (a player of his style always will) but since he's mostly playing in an area with less congestion he's more protected.
It's something they need to give serious thought over, otherwise he's going to come back, dribble through a congested part of the pitch and then get someone's studs planted in his ankle again for the 100th time. Rinse and repeat.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
The suggestion is that they're both being rested and aren't outright injured. We don't want to be taking risks with Chelsea on Saturday.
We could see the return of Flamini tomorrow.

No new injuries, according to Wenger. Presumably Bellerin and Ramsey are okay to play.

There wasn't one CDM on the market who would have softened a blow like this, eh?

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Yea, as long as we pay some sort of fee.
Not a problem in getting anyone back. but Hayden won't be getting any minutes if we call him now and Coquelin gets fit.
Worth a try though.

There's also Bielik in the u21s. You know, that guy we spent nearly £2mil on so we could play him in the reserves.
