Diaby has played 2 games in 2 years? WAT

2 years is a really , really long time to be off from the game . I am surprised he still at Arsenal tbh. What's Wenger's stance in this?

Respectable from Wenger . I guess that's right . However , if i want to be completely honest , it really doesn't seem he will ever again be important for Arsenal . You don't just come back from 2+ years absence in this game . Not the same player at least.

Wish he makes it in the end , it's quite sad what has happened to him.

I just want him to be fit and play properly. I think he will move this summer. A change of environment would probably suit him.

on the team news…
I will have to check this morning how available everybody is. Szczesny (pelvis) has not practiced yet at all. Arteta is out for sure of course and I think Sanogo (cramp) has problems as well because I had to take him off. We have a few other players that we have to check.

on Laurent Koscielny...
He is well. If I want him to start, he will start.

on Danny Welbeck…
Welbeck will have a test this morning. He has not practiced yet. I can’t tell you at the moment [if he’s okay].

on Arteta's injury…
Arteta has now had a calf problem for the third time. It's always a small grade one but it's minimum two to three weeks.

on Theo Walcott...
Theo is not okay for the weekend, he has an inflamed groin coming back from England and has not been available since. He will not be available for this game, nor Wednesday.

Guess Arteta being 2-3 weeks instead of 6 is a good news

But we have some strong options in the squad. Lukas and Joel can play there, they are both fantastic strikers.

Shame that five of those players are starters.

Would say that at least almost all will be back before January but, well.

Monreal out of tomorrow's game. Wenger "hopes" Gibbs will be fit.

Walcott also out again and will miss Galatasaray, too.

Debuchy is back in training but not ready yet. Diaby will return to first team training soon.

Wenger admits Alexis is in "red zone".

Wenger says Diaby will get a new deal when he is "fully fit".

Whenever that is, and for however long that lasts. Uh oh.

Walcott was suppose to be back after International games.

Wenger admits Alexis is in "red zone".

Is Wenger going to give him a rest or he will wait for Alexis to get injured?

Sanchez would never ask for rest and Wenger should take care of him.

But you just know all those "1 weekers" in Sam's post on previous page will remain 1 weekers after 1 week.

on the team news…
To make it as simple as possible, I have 11 experienced players and six young players on the bench. That means I have nothing to hide. Debuchy is back with us and will play, Szczesny is back in goal, Mertesacker, Chambers will play because Gibbs did not travel, Bellerin at left-back. Then you have Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Flamini, Podolski, Sanogo and Campbell. The players who needed it stayed behind - like Cazorla, Sanchez, Gibbs, Giroud is not qualified and Welbeck, who could have travelled but recently had a little knee problem, so took advantage of that to rest him.

on any other news…
Not because of the game on Saturday, but Sanchez had a groin problem for some time, and he has played 27 games. Cazorla has played many games, it is more just the number of repetitive games we have.

on Jack Wilshere…
How long will Wilshere be out? Three months, and he had no setback. He is just in a boot, he cannot have a setback because he does not practise.

--------------

Best player has a groin problem? Play him for 90 minutes every game!

Post by Sina Thu 11 Dec 2014, 16:22

Arsène Wenger has revealed the following team news ahead of Saturday's game against Newcastle United:

on the team news...
Our main problems are still defensively because Laurent Koscielny (calf from Southampton match) looks like he will not be quite ready, Nacho Monreal (foot) is not back and Calum Chambers is suspended. Mikel Arteta (calf) is not ready and Theo Walcott (groin) is out. Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) will be checked today and tomorrow, so we’ll see.

on Theo Walcott…
The signs are quite good. He has had two days of training now but he now lacks competition and fitness to come back to a good level.

on reports of Jack Wilshere having a setback…
That’s completely wrong. He’s doing very well. He’s on crutches so I don’t see how he can have a setback. It’s frustrating because it’s hard enough for Jack to be injured. He doesn’t need the negative news on top of that. It’s always frustrating to deny things that are not true.

lmao, absolutely dire.

Wenger will go with Debuchy at CB it seems, since he opted for Monreal over Ajayi, Hayden and the other young CBs we have available. Debuchy would be a better CB than Nacho but we should not be in this position.
